I'm pressing on the upward way,
New heights I'm gaining every day;
Still praying as I onward bound,
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

Lord, lift me up and let me stand,
By faith, on Heaven's table land;
A higher plane than I have found;
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

My heart has no desire to stay
Where doubts arise and fears dismay;
Tho' some may dwell where these abound,
My pray'r, my aim is higher ground.

I want to live above the world,
Though Satan's darts at me are hurled;
For faith has caught the joyful sound,
The song of saints on higher ground.

I want to scale the utmost height,
And catch a gleam of glory bright;
But still I'll pray till Heav'n I've found,
Lord, lead me on to higher ground.

🌍 IN THIS GENERATION | BWM Annual Meeting and FBC Missions Conference

What a wonderful start to our 2026 Missions Conference and the Annual Meeting of Baptist World Mission at Falls Baptist Church!

Yesterday, we were challenged and encouraged by powerful preaching from Dr. Bud Steadman and Dr. Ben Sinclair as we began this year's conference, “In This Generation.”

Our prayer is that God would stir our hearts with a renewed burden for souls and a greater vision for reaching the world with the Gospel IN THIS GENERATION!

Tom and Anna Johnson have served as missionaries in Cambodia with Baptist World Mission since 1998. As a freshman in college, Tom was faced with the question, “Are you a Christian?” He began searching for truth and accepted Christ as his Savior when he found truth in God’s Word. Anna also accepted Christ as her personal Savior in her freshman year of college, after a friend invited her to visit her church, and she heard the truth preached. The Lord later brought Tom and Anna together and united their hearts in a desire to serve Him in missions. He gave them both unique passions and medical skills so He could use them for His glory on the mission field. For over 25 years, the Johnsons have faithfully served the people of Cambodia, using medicine as a means to share the hope of the Gospel and point others to Christ.

Dan and Joan Cuthbertson (Côte d’Ivoire) have seen how God continues to faithfully work through them and their ministry in West Africa. From outreach in new communities and preaching conferences to preparing a new church auditorium and helping establish a new ministry in Bouaflé, there are exciting opportunities to see lives impacted by the gospel. A recent medical mission team helped share the gospel with more than 800 people. They have also recently seen church members and young people continue to grow in their desire to learn and serve the Lord. Their family has also been busy serving alongside them, helping with outreach, camps, construction projects, and ministry needs. Through the challenges, busy schedules, travel, and countless responsibilities, Dan and Joan continue to testify to the peace and strength found in trusting God. Please pray that the Lord will continue to strengthen their family, establish His churches, and use their ministry to bring many more people to Christ!

“Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you” (John 15:15).

El Salvador is home to more than 6.3 million people packed into a country smaller than the state of New Jersey. While Christianity is widespread and churches and believers are present throughout the nation, a tremendous need remains for faithful gospel witness, biblical discipleship, and churches that reach their communities with the truth of God’s Word. The Great Commission is not finished simply because a country has churches or many people identify as Christian. Behind every unreached community are people who need Christ, believers who need strengthening, and churches that need to be established so the Gospel can keep advancing.

Jesus is all the world to me,
My life, my joy, my all;
He is my strength from day to day,
Without Him I would fall:
When I am sad, to Him I go,
No other one can cheer me so;
When I am sad, He makes me glad,
He's my friend.

Jesus is all the world to me,
My friend in trials sore;
I go to Him for blessings, and
He gives them o'er and o'er:
He sends the sunshine and the rain,
He sends the harvest's golden grain;
Sunshine and rain, harvest of grain,
He's my friend.

Jesus is all the world to me,
And true to Him I'll be;
Oh, how could I this friend deny,
When He's so true to me?
Following Him I know I'm right,
He watches o'er me day and night;
Following Him by day and night,
He's my friend.

Jesus is all the world to me,
I want no better friend;
I trust Him now, I'll trust Him when
Life's fleeting days shall end:
Beautiful life with such a friend,
Beautiful life that has no end;
Eternal life, eternal joy,
He's my friend.

Dan and Joan Cuthbertson have served as missionaries in Côte d’Ivoire, West Africa, with Baptist World Mission since 2005. Dan and Joan both had the unique experience of being born to missionaries already on the field. Dan’s parents served in Nigeria, and Joan’s in Liberia. Being born into missionary families meant they heard the gospel at a young age and could see firsthand how God uses missionaries on foreign fields. They both accepted Christ as their personal Savior in childhood and later met while studying for ministry at Bible college in the US. After they graduated, Dan left to help a missionary in Papua New Guinea while Joan went to a technical school to pursue her nursing degree. Once Dan returned, they were married and moved to Liberia. But the Lord had other plans, and he quickly shut the door to Liberia because of conflict and political unrest. Once they returned to the US, they began deputation, and the Lord directed them to Côte d’Ivoire. After their first term in a primarily English area in Côte d’Ivoire, they determined that language school would help them better reach the primarily French-speaking people of Côte d’Ivoire. The Lord has greatly used Dan and Joan in reaching the people of Côte d’Ivoire with the gospel, and they have even raised up another generation of missionaries, as several of their own children have returned to serve in Côte d’Ivoire and other countries as well.

Steve and Brenda Faucette (Canada) have remained faithful in their service to the Lord, even through difficult health struggles, and continue to serve Him faithfully, trusting Him through this season. They are especially grateful for the Lord’s provision of the Southards, who came alongside them and assisted in the ministry during this difficult season. They are most recently encouraged to see several new attenders place their faith in Christ as their personal Savior! The Faucettes are praying that these new believers will soon take the next step of obedience through baptism. God remains faithful, and even in challenging seasons, He continues to work, save, and strengthen His people.
