States are leading the way in protecting people from harmful exposures. We need strong, health-based protections that stop plastic pollution at the source and prevent harm before it happens.

💧PFAS Awareness Week Day 1: Her name is on a law.

But before Amara’s Law, there was simply Amara.

Our daughter. Nora’s sister. A friend. A musician. A young woman with plans and dreams for her life.

Cancer changed those plans.

But it did not take away Amara’s determination to make a difference.

In the final months of her life, she chose to use her voice to help protect people she would never meet.

This is the Amara we want you to know.

💧PFAS Awareness Week DAY 1: She did it anyway!!

Amara knew she might not live long enough to benefit from the PFAS protections she was fighting for.

She did it anyway.

She spoke because she wanted other children and other families to have a different future.

That is why we continue her work.

PFAS prevention is about what we choose to leave behind for people we may never meet.

💧PFAS Awareness Week Day 1: A Parent’s perspective.

We would give anything not to be PFAS advocates.

We would rather simply be Amara’s mom and dad.

But losing our daughter changed what we know and what we can no longer ignore.
So, we speak.

We speak for prevention.

We speak for accountability.

We speak for safer water and safer communities.

And we speak because no parent should have to wonder whether a preventable chemical exposure contributed to their child’s illness.
