EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY IN HORSE BARN: Lily says, "we need another Stablehand (chore helper) around here. We are located 3 miles north of Crooks, SD. Very near Sioux Falls.
Our full-time person will be gone approx. Jan. 10-20, so we would consider hiring someone just for this temporary period. It could be M-F a.m.s. Or it could be more. Or, we could hire someone who wants more permanent employment. Schedule is negotiable. Could be part time or could possibly turn in to full time. For a more permanent position, we really need someone with horse experience. Our level of horse care is way above average. We are kind of in between what you would expect in a show barn and what you would expect on more of a ranch. This means, for one thing, that all of the horses here do have stalls in the barns but we don't lock them up in there any more than we have to. It is of course more in the winter. Speaking of winter work, most of our work is inside the barns. We do have to go outside to dump wheelbarrows, put hay out, sometimes clean up the outside pens, check waters, etc. But most of the work is inside during the winter. For the temporary position for a week or two in January (or could be longer) you wouldn't need a whole lot of horse experience. Mostly cleaning stalls, filling hay nets/bags, things like that. We could teach you. We do pay an excellent hourly wage , based on your experience, skills, schedule availability.
