Feel free to call us "old fashioned" But receiving a card in the mail with a donation and hand written letter? There is nothing more appreciated.
We recognize, convenience is also good and every donation comes with love. Just something about a hand written letter reminds me of when I was a kid.
Thank you, Geraldine for you letter and donation. We love dogs too!

Working dogs have important jobs. They also have quirks, favorite things, funny habits, and personalities all their own.

This week, Riley introduces us to Travis as we look at the lighter side of the human–K9 bond and why knowing the dog behind the work matters, too.

Meet Travis on the Heartland K9s Pawdcast, then learn more about our mission at heartlandk9s.org.

Service dog. Therapy dog. Emotional support animal.

The terms are sometimes used interchangeably, (and often not correctly) but the roles (and their legal protections) are different.

Riley is joined by future therapy dog Winnie and the always-opinionated Honey to help us sort out what each one means and why knowing the difference matters.
Watch the latest Heartland K9s Pawdcast and learn more about our work at heartlandk9s.org.

Special thanks to Pinnacle Pet for sponsoring this episode.

What does it really mean to be a service K9?

Riley is taking the host seat for our very first Riley the Service Dog & Friends: The Heartland K9s Pawdcast, with Tex joining her to talk about the training, trust, and teamwork behind a Veteran–K9 partnership.
This is where our story begins. 🐾

Learn more about our mission at heartlandk9s.org.
Special thanks to Petland for sponsoring our first episode.

Service Dog Month!

JOPLIN, Mo. (KOAM) — For veterans managing the visible and invisible wounds of service, a four-legged companion can mean the difference between isolation and connection, between struggle and stability.
