A phone call in the middle of the night could change a life.

Volunteer Victim Advocates answer our crisis line, listen without judgment, and help connect victims to support and resources. You don't need to have all the answers. You just need to be willing to answer the call. We provide the training, ongoing education, and support every step of the way.

Ready to answer the call? Join us for one of our upcoming Volunteer Victim Advocate trainings:
Saturday, September 12
Saturday, October 24

Help us show up when hope is needed most.

The first thing Volunteer Victim Advocates are trained to do is establish safety.

When someone calls our crisis line, they may be scared, overwhelmed, or unsure where to turn. Before anything else, we help determine whether they are safe and what support they need in that moment.

Help someone find safety first. Apply today at thevictimcenter.org/volunteer.

Last week, we had the pleasure of meeting with James Martin and the team at Gilardi's Restaurant to receive the proceeds from this year’s Greyzing in the Garden.

We are incredibly grateful to James for his continued support of The Victim Center and to everyone who attended and helped make the evening such a success.

Proceeds from Greyzing in the Garden help ensure victims of violent and sexual crime throughout southwest Missouri have access to our free, unlimited services, including counseling, personal advocacy, prevention education, and our 24-Hour Crisis Hotline.

"Are you safe?"

Those three words are often the first step toward helping someone escape violence, find resources, and begin healing. Volunteer Victim Advocates are trained to ask that question with compassion when it matters most.

Help us show up for victims 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Apply to be a Volunteer Victim Advocate at thevictimcenter.org/volunteer.
