A little First Grade love for our Lady War Eagles softball team! ♥️🖤

Our First Grade students recently showed up in a BIG way to cheer on the Lady War Eagles! With First Grade teacher Joey Jordan and First Grade parent Coach B as part of the team, our students had extra-special reasons to bring the Woodward spirit.

They created posters, put together swag bags for the team, and joined Primary School friends to cheer them on at the game.

We love seeing our Woodward community show up for one another...across grades, classrooms, and sidelines. Go War Eagles! 🦅

Sometimes parents need a pause, too.

Woodward parents recently took a little time to slow down, stretch, breathe, and connect at Parent Pause - a morning of yoga, mindfulness, wellness, and conversation.

Led by Upper School Spanish teacher and yoga instructor Traci Learner and organized by Academy Psychologist Daena Shearer, parents got a firsthand look at some of the mindfulness and wellness practices offered to our students through the Psychology Club.

Because taking care of our Woodward community includes taking care of the parents who help make it so special.

Here’s to finding a little more time to pause, connect, and recharge.

It’s officially fall, y’all! And that means a few things around Woodward…

Temps are starting to fall, kiddos are realizing there’s a book (or 2) they still need for class, and winter apparel season (including those required blazers for many) is quickly approaching.

In other words: this is a GREAT time to visit the WA Consignment Shop.

Okay, okay…it’s always a great time to visit. But right now, you can get ahead of the seasonal switch and shop winter apparel, books, uniforms, spirit wear and more all while giving some great Woodward finds a second life.

Special shopping hours:
Wednesday, Sept. 23 | 9-11 a.m. & noon-4 p.m. (late start day)
Friday, Oct. 2 | noon-3 p.m. (Super Goober Day)

The Woodward Consignment Shop is full of great finds at great prices…and it’s all made possible by an incredible team of parent volunteers. Even better, your purchases give back to the Woodward Parent Community and support our students.

So stop in. Browse a little. You may walk in looking for a uniform and leave with your next game-day statement piece. (Shout out to our supermodel parent volunteers who make stopping in a joy!)

Woodward parents, we want to see your student’s art!

Art is a mainstay of the Woodward experience - and we know there are some seriously talented artists among us. Painters. Photographers. Illustrators. Creators of all kinds. Now’s the time to show off their talent for a purpose. 

WA Cares (a parent community committee) is inviting parents to submit their students’ original artwork to be transformed into greeting cards used to care for and celebrate members of our Woodward community - from Woodward families to the incredible people who keep our school moving every day, including our bus drivers, dining, facilities and security teams.

Submission categories include:
* Winter Holiday Greetings 
* Bereavement & Sympathy
* Woodward Spirit…think WA colors, campus photography, student life and more

All Woodward students are invited to participate, and parents may submit up to two original pieces per student, per category.

Because at Woodward, art doesn’t just hang on the walls. Sometimes, it becomes a way to say thank you, we’re thinking of you, and you matter to our community.

Woodward North students recently traded classroom walls for gallery walls with a visit to the High Museum of Art to experience the renowned Amy Sherald exhibition.

A day filled with bold art, fresh perspectives, and the kind of learning that comes from seeing, exploring, and experiencing something new.
