A gentle reminder from Mojo's Hope: We definitely want cats to have exposure to the outdoors and there are many creative ways to make that happen while keeping them and wildlife safe and sound.

Protection of our cats, starts with us, their owners, responsible rescue organizations and our municipal shelter.
Please do all you can to keep your cats indoors, provide them with all they need to be enriched, content and loved. It is so heartbreaking each time we read a lost or found post. Please share our post and let's work together to keep our cats safe and sound. If you need more information or are struggling with ways to help your cat please reach out to us!

“The municipal ordinance (Title 17) requires that a person who owns an animal, such as a dog or cat, shall control it at all times. In a public place, with some exceptions, the municipal ordinance requires that an owner shall have his/her animal under control and shall not allow it to roam neighborhoods or have access to other people's property.”
We know accidents happen, however it is disconcerting to see the number of cats going missing. It is our responsibility to do our best to be proactive and have systems in place to ensure they are kept safe and sound.
If you need support with this, please do not hesitate to reach out. We want all the cats of our community to be with their loved ones.

Featured gorgeous cats, Sadie-love and Purreston III. Both of these sweet cats were at AHS and then came to MH to foster. Purreston has been with us for a year and a half, and Sadie has been with us for a year. They were both transferred to our Mojo's Hope program. They have become quite bonded and have so much fun together.

Hello AHS supporters! We hope this post finds you well.

This page will no longer be the page for the Alaska Humane Society Adopt-a-Cat Shelter.

You may occassionally see cats from that shelter, however this page will now refocus on cats in all of Alaska once again!

Purrlease be sure to pop on over to the new page for the AHS shelter: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61594976611256 and show your support by following and "liking" their posts. We hope to see you all there continuing your support of the AHS cats.

Thank you!

Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome cats in Alaska.

Sweet Eva came to us after her owner passed away and she was brought to Anchorage Animal Care and Control. A sweet elder cat with vision impairment and hyperthyroidism. She found a lovely foster home from one of the Shelter’s amazing volunteers. That connection transformed into something deeper and now Eva is adopted!

From her loving person:
““I knew Eva was special when I first fostered her in May, but over the next few months she quickly carved a space into my heart and I realized she was in her forever home. No one who met her at first glance would guess she was thirteen years young and blind—she’s incredibly independent, excellent at navigating her new house, and always knows the fastest route to a human lap. I’ve never been happier to foster fail and I’m so glad Eva and I have both found the place she belongs.”

We are so grateful to everyone who helped to give Eva so much and most especially to her loving forever home.

We absolutely love and appreciate the positive connections made with our adoptive homes and getting updates like this makes our hearts so happy!

"Hello! I just wanted to send an update on Melo (previously Mellow), since it’s been one year since we adopted him from you guys!

He’s the sweetest boy ever, loves a good cuddle, and still loves lounging around on his back. He’s also such a smart and talented boy! We quickly learned that he’ll do just about anything for a treat, especially a Churu, so he picks up new tricks super quickly.

We wanted to thank you guys again for helping us find him. He truly completes our family, and we love him so much! ❤️"

Mellow came to AHS from Dutch Harbor. He was painfully shy and thanks to our dedicated volunteers he not only transformed socially, they were able to determine he was not fully neutered. Thanks to due diligence that was taken care of properly by our amazing vet team and Mellow continued his journey and connected with his wonderful forever home. A big thank you again to Rachel who does so much for the cats in Dutch Harbor, we know that Melo and his family are so grateful for all you do.

Happy Adopt-a-versary Melo! We LOVE you and are forever grateful to your family.

Sweet Sable is finally going in for her blood glucose assessment and her dental. Thanks to your generosity AHS has raised $228.00 towards he dental with a goal of a low end of $2595.28 and the high end of $3244.10. If you are able to donate, you can do so right through the orignal post or through the donate button on her newly updated website: https://adopt-a-cat.org/help/donate/

Any dollar amount helps us help Sable and we need our sweet girl to get the proper care she deserves.

If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing the original post to help get the word out.
