One of the many reasons we love The Annual Event is that it’s a true celebration of the hard work and dedication our participants put in every single day. It’s a space where those we serve can come together with supporters and community members to reflect on a year of progress.

Is it a fundraiser? Yes. Do we rely on our sponsors, donors, and attendees to power our mission for the coming year? Absolutely! But above all, it’s our way of celebrating milestones, accomplishments, and victories. It’s a special night dedicated to honoring people who have worked so hard and deserve to be celebrated.

We truly hope you’ll join us. Whether you attend, become a sponsor, sponsor a ticket for someone else, donate or bid in the silent auction, or simply interact with this post, you have the chance to make a real impact.

To learn more, visit our event page at https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/2026-annual-event-illuminate-inclusion or give us a call at (269) 966-2575.

The Arc firmly believes that skills are best learned by doing! We also believe that even the smallest task can be opportunities for growth and development. Skill building provides adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD) the opportunity to develop, enhance, and exhibit adaptive skills in a community setting. The opportunities for skill development can include things like socialization, adaptability, self-discipline, independence, self-confidence, sense of belonging, self-advocacy, personal safety, resource allocation, time-management, professionalism, problem-solving, leadership, and conflict-management. Our only goal is to assist the individuals we serve it reaching their goals!

For information on The Arc's Skill Building Services, visit us online at thearccalhoun.org/skill-building/.

When you buy a ticket to The Arc’s Annual Event, you are directly supporting critical programs like Skill Building, Employment Services, Educational Advocacy, and Alternatives to Guardianship right here in our community!

Our goal this year is to raise $25,000. While grants help sustain many of our core services, community fundraising allows us to address needs that aren't covered by traditional funding, expand our programs, and respond to emerging opportunities.

Let's come together to support local families and keep these vital programs growing.

Show your support:
Individual Tickets: $75
Sponsorship Levels: Bronze ($250), Silver ($500), Gold ($1,000), or Presenting Sponsor ($2,500), all of which include event tickets!

Advocacy starts at home, and the Self-Advocates are taking action in our local neighborhoods! They have joined other local organizations to form a Get Out the Vote Coalition to ensure everyone’s voice is counted in the upcoming election. The Self-Advocates' plans include visiting group homes, helping neighbors register to vote, and even providing transportation to polling places. Beyond the ballot box, the group is attending local housing commission meetings to address barriers to affordable housing.

The Self-Advocates of Calhoun County celebrated two years of empowerment during Disability Pride Month! One of their biggest highlights this year so far is traveling to the State Capitol for Voices in Action Day, where they met with Senator Thomas Albert and staff for Representative Steve Frisbie. They spoke directly about critical healthcare concerns and guardianship legislation, including Senate Bills 1007 and 1008.

Charlie Gale, member of the Self Advocates group shared, speaking directly to representatives is the best way to ensure their community is truly being heard. We are so proud of these advocates for directing their own lives and influencing state policy!
