6 miles left. This is the last push down the river walk before we board the ferry and shed our gear at NYPD's 1st Precinct beside ground zero.

We know official ceremonies are drawing to a close down there, and we feel very privileged to be allowed by the reflecting pools afterward. Keep in mind how that skyline looked 25 years ago today.

If you have not been to the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, it is a must see. It is kept impeccably, and the tributes inside the Museum will stick with you.

Earlier this evening we were greeted in North Brunswick style by Company 3. This crew has shown us such hospitality each year. With Sal's Pizza donating more pizza than we could even put away. It was a great recharge before heading into New Brunswick and on to Rutgers, Edison, and Rahway. We're currently walking beside Newark Airport, not lost the memory of United 93 taking off from there 25 years ago this morning. As the sun rises and we lay eyes on the city, it's really going to hit.

*A very delayed first post of the season*
The 100For911 Team is in final preparation for the 2026 walk. On this landmark year, the 25th anniversary, we will be raising money and awareness for the 9/11 Memorial & Museum located at the site where the Twin Towers once proudly stood.

The 9/11 attacks are still fresh in the minds of some, but many adults today weren't yet born or were too young to witness or comprehend them. Many others have never had a chance to visit the Memorial & Museum. Our effort seeks to raise funding for a memorial that so greatly preserves the names, faces, and sacred artifacts of all who were lost that day.

Our team will depart McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey the morning of 10 Sept carrying the US Flag. We will walk through the night, 100 miles to Ground Zero, where we will present our raised funds to the Museum the afternoon of 11 Sept in a small ceremony beside the reflecting pools.
