Week one is in the books. 📚✨

Tutors showed up across Central and Southeast Arkansas this week and so did the kids who needed them. Something good is already happening in these buildings and we are just getting started.

To every AR Kids Read tutor who walked through a school door this week, thank you. You chose to give your time to a child who needed someone in their corner. That is not a small thing. It is everything. 💛

We still have students waiting for a tutor. It is not too late to join us this year. https://arkidsread.org/volunteer/

Entergy Arkansas believed in Arkansas kids this summer and it shows in every number on this graphic. 💛

154 students. 92% maintained or grew their literacy scores. 2,370 hours of learning. None of it happens without partners who show up. Thank you Entergy Arkansas for your grant support! 📚

New books just found their way to AR Kids Read and will be given out to our 2026/2027 students. 📚

That happened because one of our volunteer tutors, Anita, saw a need and went after a grant from Modern Woodmen of America to fill it.

Thank you, Anita, and thank you Modern Woodmen of America for making it happen. 💛

Shoutout to our Blue Cross Blue Shield volunteers who showed up this week and completely outdid themselves. 💙📚

They delivered tutoring supplies to sites across central Arkansas, enough to keep 75 volunteer tutors equipped and 150 students reading. That is what happens when the right people show up with the right heart.

Thank you Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield for making this week one for the books. 💛
