So far this year, from January through the end of May, American Heroes In Action has hosted 27 adventures for 111 Veterans and first responders. Already in June, we have 5 adventures on the calendar for another 23 Veterans and first responders. We're looking for volunteers to help with raising funds to pay for MORE adventures and help with planning more adventures. Would you like to help?

Happy Armed Forces Day to all who are serving, and all who have served. Later today, American Heroes in Action will draw TWO Veterans to go fishing in Alaska over the 4th of July. There is still time to get your name in the drawing. You need to buy a calendar in the Monday Gunday giveaway. We draw a winner and give away a prize every Monday. You chance to win comes EVERY Monday. We have over 30 r1fles, sh0tguns and h@ndguns left to give away this year. The final prize is the 50 cal beowulf. If you win a prize, your name goes back in the drawing for a chance to win again. Today, March 25th, is Medal of Honor Day. The Medal of Honor (MOH) is the highest military decoration of the United States Armed Forces and is awarded to recognize American soldiers, sailors, Marines, airmen, guardians, and coast guardsmen who have distinguished themselves by acts of valor. The medal is normally awarded by the president of the United States (the commander in chief of the armed forces) and is presented "in the name of Congress."It is often referred to as the Congressional Medal of Honor, though the official name of the award is simply "Medal of Honor."

There are three distinct variants of the medal: one for the Department of the Army, awarded to soldiers; one for branches of the Department of the Navy, awarded to sailors, marines, and coast guardsmen; and one for military branches of the Department of the Air Force, awarded to airmen and guardians. The Medal of Honor was introduced for the Naval Service in 1861, soon followed by the Army's version in 1862. The Air Force used the Army's version until they received their own distinctive version in 1965. The Medal of Honor is the oldest continuously issued combat decoration of the United States Armed Forces. The president typically presents the Medal of Honor at a formal ceremony intended to represent the gratitude of the American people, with posthumous presentations made to the primary next of kin.

There have been 3,552 Medals of Honor awarded. In 1990, Congress designated March 25 as Medal of Honor Day.

On Saturday, March 7th, American Heroes in Action, NOCO held it's 2nd annual fundraising banquet and raised over $25,000 to pay for outdoor adventures for Veterans and 1st responders. When are we going to have a banquet, or golf tournament, or other fundraiser in the Texas? Who wants to volunteer to help?
