MedWater focuses on local implementation of public health infrastructure to improve safe water distribution and sanitation and hygiene education. By working collaboratively with communities, government services, and medical organizations we offer a stratagem which includes clearly outlined commitments to “on site” support in order to nurture relationships and create active community development an

d ownership of public health infrastructure. The MedWater model meets the criteria of a Global Health Strategy by:

•Using evidence-based knowledge to inform decisions
•Leveraging strengths through partnership and coordination
•Responding to local needs
•Building local capacities
•Ensuring a lasting, measurable impact
•Emphasizing prevention
•Improving the equity of health

In 2024, the Sumak Sacha community successfully constructed a safe water station, as captured in the Inauguration Day photo. Fundación MedWater visits the Tamia Urku community. There is a safe water station here and they are training more community members on the water treatment method and providing point of use 5 gallon water containers for home use. Children's health is a primary focus of communities and involving children in water training reinforces the importance of keeping water safe.
