Baptist Children's Homes of North Carolina Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina (BCH) exists to share the love of Jesus and provide hope to vulnerable children, families, and individuals.

BCH provides gospel‑centered care to vulnerable children, families, and adults while mobilizing and partnering with churches to expand foster care, adoption, and supportive ministries across NC and beyond. Through the Every Child initiative, we work with NC churches and families to ensure every boy and girl knows they are loved, safe, and valued. Each year, the Annual Offering makes this mission possible. Your gifts provide:

❤ Gospel-centered foster care
❤ Safe cottage homes for children in need
❤ Domestic adoption services
❤ Support for moms in crisis pregnancies choosing life
❤ Care for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities
❤ Partnerships in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Guatemala

Together, we’re on mission for every child. 💛

You don’t need a perfect plan or a spotless house to get licensed to foster.

David and Brittany Blalock will tell you their first home visit made them nervous. Then their licensing worker came, sat down, and didn’t care one bit about a little dust on the fan. Life is messy, and B*H knows that.

It isn’t a test. We just want to really know you, because when we present a family to the state, we want to be able to say we truly know them and stand behind them. It’s a long process and a lot of work, but your licensing worker is there to help you get ready at your own pace.

Watch their story, then read every step of the process in our guide, “How to Become a Foster Parent in North Carolina”: https://hubs.ly/Q04BGdxP0

Thank you, Tempur Sealy International! 💙

Last week, 11 members of the Tempur Sealy team, led by Mark Day, spent time on the B*H campus serving alongside us. These dedicated partners come back several times a year, and this group was especially special because they traveled from all across the country, including California and Ohio, to be here.

During their visit, they prepped Christmas campaign materials in our marketing building, cleaned out the gym basement, and thoroughly cleaned both floors of Mills Home Baptist Church. And they’re already planning their next trip back!

Thank you for showing up for the children and families we serve. We’re so grateful for you.

Autumn packed her car, hugged her mom goodbye, and headed to NC State.

For the past two years, Autumn lived at B*H’s Odum Home in Pembroke, in a cottage with the girls she now calls her sisters and the houseparent she now calls Mom. It didn’t happen overnight. Autumn says she waited a month or two before finally asking, “Is it okay if I call you my mom?”

Denise Lewis, or “Miss D.” as she’s known, says Autumn has been the best big sister in the cottage. When Autumn won a $1,000 scholarship, the first thing she did was take her sisters and her mom out to eat. “That’s what I always wanted to do.”

We don’t often get to hear from the children who have lived in our care, so we’re grateful Autumn is willing to share her story with us. She’s a straight-A student, a scholarship winner, and proof of what happens when a young person finds a place to belong.

Rain, wind, and all, our Friends of Children volunteers showed up Saturday at Broyhill, Odum and Laura’s Homes. In just 2.5 hours, they organized kitchens, sorted clothing and toys, stocked shelves, and so much more. Thank you to Woodland Baptist Church, Iglesia Bautista of Columbus, Center Road Baptist Church, and everyone who gave their time to serve our children and families. 💛

Think you have to be married to become a foster parent? You don’t.

Single adults can become licensed foster parents through B*H. They complete the same references, questionnaire, and 30 hours of training as married couples—and they can make an incredible difference in a child’s life.

One of our foster parents put it this way: “You’re doing this single, but you’re not alone.”

Foster care is hard. Having a strong community around you can make all the difference.
So if you’ve counted yourself out because you’re single, don’t assume foster care isn’t for you. If you have a church family or community of people who will surround you with support, we’d encourage you to consider whether this could be your yes.

A huge thank you to the Archdale Police Department for volunteering at Fancy Finds NC! 💙

In just one day, they cleared out, cleaned, and reorganized our storage building, a project that's been on our list for months. Now we're ready for more donations!

You don't have to foster or adopt to make a difference. Volunteering, donating, and shopping at Fancy Finds all help further our mission. Thank you, Archdale PD, for showing up for B*H! 🙌

Before a family ever starts the foster care process with us, there’s one thing we make sure they hear clearly: reunification is always the first goal.

Foster care exists to care for a child while their family works toward bringing them home, not as a pathway to adoption. We say that early and plainly because families deserve to understand the purpose of foster care before they say yes.

Right now, foster care is where the need is greatest. There are kids who need a safe place to land today while their families work toward bringing them home.

Come take a peek inside Turner Cottage! 🏡

Turner Cottage is one of our family foster homes. A foster family lives here so they have the space to open their hearts and their home to more children who need a safe, loving place to stay.

Every room was designed with kids in mind, from the cozy bedrooms and cubbies by the door to a big dining table with plenty of room for everyone. It's a place where kids can feel at home, make memories, and know they're loved.

The words on the wall say it best: "Most of all, let love guide your life." (Colossians 3:14) 💙
