Opened in 2019 and steps away from Kelowna General Hospital, JoeAnna’s House provides accommodations for out-of-town families with loved ones receiving care at KGH. The communities of the Interior of BC rallied together to begin raising the funds needed to begin construction. One year later, in October 2018, the official ground-breaking took place at the site. And, one year after that, in October
of 2019, the KGH Foundation received the keys to the home. It took approximately 297 individuals to build JoeAnna’s House, including architects, engineers, consultants, trades, sub-trades, and suppliers. JoeAnna’s house offers affordable, on-site accommodations for out-of-town families with loved ones receiving care at KGH. Featuring 20 family rooms, a contemporary communal cooking space, cozy common areas, and other home-like amenities including laundry facilities and a kids’ play area, no detail has been spared in the design and construction. Research shows patients heal faster and more effectively when surrounded by their loved ones. And family members bond with others through a shared experience. It is a home-away-from-home that keeps families together when they need to be together most. JoeAnna’s House is owned & operated by the KGH Foundation and is entirely supported by your donations.
