Celebrating 50 years of service, we stand with our community to end domestic & sexual violence through advocacy, prevention, and support. A community where people band together to help the greater good. Sometimes these wonderful things our community is known for, can mask some of the struggles our community faces. Family violence is a growing issue in our community. It is up to all of us to band t

ogether. If you witness family violence, we encourage you to report it- we encourage you to be safe, but that does not mean ignoring the problem if you see it happening. When you reach out and help a person who is struggling with violence in the home... you never know how many lives you may be saving.

✨ Employee Spotlight: Darian Ryan ✨

Meet Darian Ryan, one of our On-Call Advocates who joined the Waypost team in July 2026! Darian is passionate about helping people find a fresh start after difficult experiences and creating safer environments for individuals and families.

One moment that confirmed Darian was in the right place happened during their very first on-call shift, when a scared survivor called simply needing someone to listen. By the end of their conversation, she felt safe enough to finally sleep. That moment reminded Darian just how powerful it can be to simply show up and listen.

Darian hopes everyone understands that domestic and sexual violence can happen to anyone, regardless of gender, age, or background. Everyone deserves to feel safe, supported, and loved.

Outside of work, Darian enjoys learning different languages, has a degree in Deaf Studies and American Sign Language, and loves spending time at home with family and pets. And, of course, a good sweet blended coffee! ☕🐾

🛠️ Building our Riverboat Days float to get us parade-ready!

Standing up together for a safer, stronger community! 💜

We loved partnering with the Sheriff’s Office and the rodeo crew for this year’s Man Up Crusade. Together, we hosted a booth to share resources and raised vital funds through our silent auction!

Huge congratulations to the silent auction winner and heartfelt thanks to everyone who stopped by to visit our team. Community support like yours keeps us going! 🙌

What a weekend! 🎉 Huge shoutout to our incredible Waypost team for powering through Riverboat Days!

From building our float from scratch to marching in the heat, our staff brought all the energy! All that hard work paid off—we are thrilled to take home 5th place in the Non-Profit Division! 🏆

A special thank you to Destiny Hysell for hand-painting our custom red, white, and blue banner—it truly brought the entire float together! ❤️🤍💙

Tonight we are back in South Dakota for the Yankton Extreme Bull Riding event. Join us in wearing PURPLE as we stand together against domestic violence and promote safe and healthy relationships in our communities. A special "thank you" to Sheriff Preston Crissey at the Yankton County Sheriff's Office for helping bring the Man Up Crusade back to South Dakota for this event.

If you or someone you know is in an abusive or unhealthy relationship, Waypost provides assistance to people who have experienced abuse, sexual assault, r**e crisis, and/or domestic violence in Yankton, County and surrounding areas.

Waypost will have a booth at the Extreme Bull Riding event on Saturday, August 22 for Purple Night 💜. Stop by to say hello, pick up something purple, ask a question for yourself or for someone you're worried about, or just see what a domestic violence resource center actually does.

While you're there: bid on the fundraising silent auction for a special edition Man Up Crusade® belt buckle. Bids can be placed anytime via the QR code prior to 7:30pm, the winner is announced that night, and all proceeds are donated to Waypost.
