It’s Month. Since 2015, our mission deploys free hearing health services thru our mobile clinic. When seeking partners to serve, we look for the most at-risk people who are struggling with hearing loss or deafness (aka profound hearing loss).

This past week, we partnered with downtown Louisville’s Fourth Street Live! and met Lenoard, who is overcoming addiction & a horrific accident that has left him profoundly deaf in one ear & severe hearing loss in his other.

Leonard is soon being seen at a medical center by an ENT for cochlear implants or other implantable hearing technology, so he stopped by to take a free hearing screening.

And now, because he did, our Care Team is going to help & guide him so he feels confident, has thoughtful questions to ask his team, knows what coverage he has & more.

While on site at the mobile clinic, Leonard was able to see, touch & learn more about cochlear implants thanks to the generous support from Cochlear Americas

A special shoutout to The American Legion Convention and guests right next door at the Louisville Convention Center! We’ve already had the opportunity to serve so many attendees and help those with untreated hearing loss take their next step.

There are some people who legitimately deserve an award everyday, but are so humble that they’d never accept it. Dr. Emily Lund is one of those…

Not only has Dr. Lund contributed to our mission with advice, consulting & real conversations about the most marginalized and at-risk children we serve, but she is very much responsible for our very own Lexi’s success.

She helped the girl behind our mission, Lexi, go from profound deafness and zero language to the young woman with incredible speech & hearing.

Thank you, Dr. Lund, for your dedication to deaf/HoH youth!

🏆 Congratulations to Dr. Emily Lund on receiving TCU’s Chancellor’s Award for Distinguished Achievement as a Creative Teacher and Scholar!

Through an innovative mentorship model, Lund brings undergraduate, master’s and Ph.D. students together to advance research that improves outcomes for children who are deaf and hard of hearing — preparing the next generation of clinicians and researchers to make a meaningful impact. 💜
