Our 4th grade scholars had a fantastic and productive EL rotation block this week! Through differentiated learning activities, scholars worked on building their literacy skills while engaging with meaningful, thought-provoking content.

One group gathered at the carpet to explore a research article about early dyslexia screenings. This gave scholars an opportunity to practice reading informational texts, explore new ideas, and learn about the importance of identifying and supporting different learning needs.

At Catalyst, we believe every scholar deserves to be known, loved, and challenged. Differentiated instruction helps us meet scholars where they are while providing opportunities to grow as readers, thinkers, and learners. We are proud of our 4th graders for their focus, curiosity, and commitment to learning!

Ms. Jones had a wonderful time connecting with scholars as they explored toys from long ago (the olden days lol) and used their imaginations to dream up new toys!

Through hands-on learning and lively conversations, scholars discovered how toys have changed over time, shared their ideas, and practiced important early literacy skills, including letter sounds and rhyming words. By connecting reading and learning to something familiar and fun, scholars can build foundational skills while developing a love of learning.

Our high school Physical Science scholars are kicking off their next unit by exploring battery-powered vehicles and how they work! To bring their learning to life, scholars got a firsthand look under the hood of Ms. Layson and Mr. Church’s car, connecting classroom concepts to real-world technology.

Experiences like these give scholars the opportunity to ask questions, explore how things work, and see science in action. We love seeing our scholars engage in hands-on learning as they build their understanding of the world around them!

Our Kinder scholars in WGU are showing us how rockstar readers read! They’re practicing reading from left to right and top to bottom as they build those important early literacy skills.
