Monday, November 16th, at 7:00 PM MT

Join Yehuda Stolov and Abier Abd Al-Daim as they explore the following question: What does peacebuilding look like when it begins not with political negotiations, but through encounters between ordinary people? IEA offers an answer through Yehuda and Abier’s shared story. Their distinctive approach avoids discussion of politics and the current conflict, focusing instead on religion and relationships.

Attend this event in-person or virual, free of charge: https://www.valleybeitmidrash.org/class/building-peace-one-encounter-at-a-time/

Thanks to Temple Solel of Paradise Valley for co-sponsoring and co-hosting this event along with the Foundation for Religious Diplomacy and Interfaith Encounter Association - building inter-communal bridges.

Honored to meet Martin Luther King III today, a powerful voice for civil rights and justice who carries forward the extraordinary legacy of his father, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

One of the most insightful takeaways, from listening to him, was the importance of learning to disagree civilly ("continuous courageous dialogue"). In a time of deep polarization, we need not abandon our convictions to listen with respect, engage with humility, and recognize the humanity of those with whom we disagree.

I’m especially grateful for his longstanding commitment to strengthening the relationship between the Black and Jewish communities, rooted in a shared history of moral courage and a continued responsibility to one another.

The work of justice requires both moral clarity and the willingness to build relationships across difference. Grateful for today’s conversation and for leaders who remind us that the struggle for justice is not only about what we stand for, but how we stand together, even when we disagree.
