Carson Cats Rescue Carson Cats is a cat rescue dedicated to rescuing cats & kittens from 6 Los Angeles County shelters.

Cyndi Zacko and her small team of volunteers work relentlessly to rescue cats in need from these shelters, raising money for their vetting, pulling them from the shelters and transporting them to prospective fosters, adopters and rescues to the Los Angeles Area. Carson Cats is also highly involved in making these cats HEALTHY for the rescues to take and find homes for because most of the animals that come from these shelters are exposed to terrible viruses or are surrendered to the shelter in terrible shape due to abuse and neglect.

We urgently need to raise $1,250 for Grayson's medical care AND find a loving foster or adopter to help him recover!

We recently rescued Grayson from Carson Animal Care Center after a desperate 72-hour plea was issued for his life.

Grayson is just 4 years old and a beautiful, rare American Curl, known for those distinctive ears that curl backward. But what makes him truly special isn't his appearance — it's his incredibly sweet, gentle personality. ❤️

Grayson entered the shelter as a stray with a horrific, extensive wound covering the side of his face and neck. We don't know what happened to him. Perhaps he was dragged by a car or suffered some other terrible trauma.

What we do know is that despite everything he's endured, Grayson remains unbelievably affectionate, trusting, and loving.** 🥹

When his 72-hour notice came out, we knew we couldn't leave him behind.

❤️ GRAYSON HAS A LONG ROAD TO RECOVERY.

He needs:

🐾 Weekly veterinary bandage changes and wound care

🐾 Ongoing treatment for his severe neck and facial injuries

🐾 Treatment for an ear infection

🐾 Medications, monitoring, and supportive care

His recovery could take weeks or even months. Our initial goal is $1,250 to help cover his veterinary care.

We took a chance on Grayson because his life matters. He survived whatever happened to him and somehow never lost his trust in people. Now it's our turn to show him kindness. ❤️

🙏 CAN YOU HELP? Every donation, even $5 or $10, makes a difference. Our rescue has so many cats with significant medical needs, but we couldn't turn our backs on this sweet boy.

🏡 GRAYSON ALSO NEEDS A FOSTER OR ADOPTER!

He deserves a safe, loving home where he can heal and receive the affection he so willingly gives.

It truly takes a village to help as many cats as we do, and right now our village needs YOU!

Carson Cats Rescue is 100% volunteer-run. Every kitty we save is fed, cleaned up after, loved, and helped into a loving home by people who give their time because they care.

Right now, these are the two areas where we need the most help:

🐾 Adoption events: Saturdays or Sundays, 12–4 PM at PetSmart El Segundo. You’ll welcome potential adopters, introduce them to our kitties, answer questions, and help them find the right match.

🐱 Sanctuary cat care: Morning or evening shifts, any day of the week. You’ll help with feeding, fresh water, litter care, cleaning, and giving our kitties plenty of love and attention.

Even a few hours can make a HUGE difference for these cats.

🚨❤️ UPDATE!! JONATHAN NEEDS OUR HELP — AND EVERY DONATION WILL BE DOUBLED! ❤️🚨

We have an incredible update to share about our sweet Jonathan.

Jonathan actually found us. ❤️ He started hanging around outside our sanctuary, sitting by the screen door and saying hello to all the cats inside. He was a feral community cat and wary of people, but clearly decided he liked our cats — and thought our sanctuary looked like a pretty good place to be.

Little by little, we made friends with him. We got him neutered and vetted, started letting him come inside, and before we knew it, Jonathan had become part of our sanctuary family. This once-feral boy blossomed into an incredibly sweet cat and a true volunteer favorite.

Unfortunately, Jonathan has now been diagnosed with nasal lymphoma.

His next step is a CT scan to precisely map his tumor so his oncology team can plan his radiation treatment. Between the CT, bloodwork and beginning treatment, we are trying to raise $6,000 to get him through this first critical stage of his care.

❤️ AND NOW WE HAVE AMAZING NEWS! ❤️

A incredibly generous donor has offered to MATCH every donation dollar-for-dollar, up to half of our $6,000 goal!

That means:
🐾 $25 becomes $50
🐾 $50 becomes $100
🐾 $100 becomes $200
🐾 $500 becomes $1,000

If we can raise $3,000 from our community, the match will let us meet Jonathan’s initial goal.

Jonathan went from a feral cat peeking through our sanctuary door to a beloved member of our family. Now we want to give him every chance we can.

🙏 Please help us unlock the full match for Jonathan. Every donation made right now has DOUBLE the impact.

❤️ Donate at the link in our bio or at www.carsoncats.com/donate

Can’t donate? PLEASE SHARE. Every share can help us reach the person who can. 🐾❤️

And what an amazing cat he has become. This once-feral community cat has turned into an incredibly sweet boy and a true volunteer favorite.

Unfortunately, Jonathan has now been diagnosed with nasal lymphoma.

His next step is a CT scan, which his oncology team needs to plan for radiation therapy — the preferred gold-standard treatment for localized nasal lymphoma and the treatment we hope will give Jonathan the best chance at a longer, happy life with a good quality of life.

❤️ Right now, we need to raise $6,000 to get Jonathan through his CT, bloodwork and first treatments.

We're taking this one step at a time. Jonathan is still enjoying his life, and we want to give this very special boy every reasonable chance we can.

If 60 people donate $100, we're there.
If 120 people donate $50, we're there.

We would also LOVE to find Jonathan a foster or adopter who could give him a home while he goes through treatment. Our rescue will continue to support his cancer-related veterinary care.

Please help us give this very special guy more time to enjoy the life he has learned to love. Jonathan truly has the best personality, and we can't help but feel there was a reason he found his way to our sanctuary and chose us.

Maybe he came to us because we were supposed to be the ones to help him when he needed it most. ❤️

Please donate if you can. If you can't donate, please share his story. And if you can foster, adopt or help with transportation, please reach out.

💛 Urgent Temp Foster Needed by Tuesday for Sweet Senior Roxy 💛

🏡 Foster: www.carsoncats.com/foster

Hi everyone,

Roxy’s wonderful long-term foster is going out of town, and Roxy needs a safe place to stay from this Tuesday, September 29, through Sunday, October 25.

This is truly temporary. Her foster is coming back for her, so all she needs is a quiet, loving spot to land while they’re away.

Roxy is a 16-year-old senior girl who came to Carson Cats Rescue from Carson Animal Care Center earlier this year. Since moving into foster care, she has shown us a whole new side of herself.

Roxy had a health scare shortly after she arrived, but she’s doing much better now: she’s eating well, holding her weight, and her kidney values are stable.

She loves people, enjoys curling up next to you (or in your lap), and is happiest in a quiet home where she can simply be part of the family.

At her age, big changes can be hard, so we would love to keep her somewhere calm and cozy while her foster is away.

🏡 A temp foster from Tuesday 9/29 to Sunday 10/25
🛋️ A quiet room or cozy corner is all she needs

We’ll cover all of her medical care and supplies, and support you every step of the way.

If you’ve ever thought about fostering but weren’t ready for a long commitment, this is the perfect way to try it, with a built-in happy ending.

🧡 Adopt: www.carsoncats.com/adopt

Hi everyone,

Seven years ago, we adopted out two sweet cats, Sophie and Alice, to an elderly woman. Because of her age, her daughter signed the adoption papers so the cats would always have someone to care for them.

Unfortunately, her daughter is now terminally ill and moving into a care facility this Sunday.

She has been trying to find Sophie and Alice a home on her own, and we only just found out. Now we urgently need help finding them a safe place to go before Sunday.

Sophie and Alice are mother and daughter. Sophie, the mom, is a white, long-haired Turkish Angora with one blue eye and one green eye.

Alice, her daughter, is a gray and white girl who is very silly.

Both cats are loving, quiet, and playful in a mellow way. Their favorite place is curled up in your lap.

They are indoor-only, and they like dogs, but they need a little time to warm up to any new animal.

As mother and daughter, they have been together Alice’s whole life, and we would love to keep them together. Whoever takes them in will love them both.

Right now, we are just hoping someone can step in and give them a safe place to land.

🏡 A foster home starting Sunday 9/27
🧡 Or a forever home for both of them

This could be:
• A short-term foster while we find their forever home
• Or longer, if you fall in love with them and want to adopt

Even stepping in for a short time could completely change things for these two.

🏡 Foster: www.carsoncats.com/foster
🧡 Adopt: fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.carsoncats.com/adopt

🔁 Please share. This is time-sensitive.

❤️ **LUNA UPDATE + FOSTER NEEDED NEXT WEEK** ❤️
Good news, some complicated news, and one urgent need for Luna

🏠 FOSTER LUNA: www.carsoncats.com/foster
❤️ DONATE TOWARD HER CARE: www.carsoncats.com/donate

So many of you came through for Luna when she desperately needed help, and we wanted to let you know what happened next. ❤️

Thanks to your help, Luna was hospitalized and we were able to get the ultrasound and additional diagnostics she needed. They found quite a few things going on, including some kidney disease and GI/IBD issues. One of the bigger findings was a fairly large mass on her liver.

We had the mass aspirated and sent out for cytology. The results showed significant hepatic lipidosis (fatty changes in the liver), along with some atypical liver cells. The good news is that it did NOT come back as confirmed cancer. Because there is an actual mass, however, they can't completely rule out a liver tumor without a more invasive biopsy.

For now, we're going to continue monitoring her, repeat her bloodwork and ultrasound, and decide what makes the most sense for Luna from there.

Unfortunately, her diabetes has also returned, so Luna is now back on insulin twice a day and will need continued monitoring.

Despite ALL of this, **Luna is doing better.** ❤️ She's eating, comfortable and still the incredibly sweet girl we all fell in love with.

**But we now urgently need a new foster for Luna beginning next week.** Her current foster can no longer keep her because of her housing/landlord situation, and we need to find a safe place for this sweet senior girl to land.

We will provide all of Luna's medical care, medications and supplies — she just needs someone willing to give her a quiet, loving place to stay and help with her twice-daily insulin.

We could also still use a little help with her medical expenses. We ended up approximately **$800 short on her recent care**, and she now has follow-up bloodwork, diabetes monitoring and a repeat ultrasound ahead of her.

🙏 **PLEASE HELP LUNA**
