Responsibilities:
Administrative Duties
Receptionist duties (respond to calls, emails, and emergencies, welcome guests, etc.).
Schedule and calendar all adoption appointments, meet & greets, transportation, & vet appointments.
Coordinate, schedule, & conduct meet & greets for adoptable animals.
Responsible for facilitating the adoption process including adopter surveys, pet wait lists, and processing contracts in all areas.
Process adoption contracts including calling references, requesting pet documents, & scheduling home checks.
Conduct follow up calls for adopted pets & transfer microchips as needed.
Actively manage adoptable & adopted pet files.
Take initiative on projects, professionally represent the organization, & exhibit commitment to overall goals & deadlines set by management.
Consider ongoing safety of pets & guest, foresee safety concerns, & be proactive accordingly.
Track and process donations.
Animal Care Duties
Clean kennels and animal playroom according to standard protocols.
Feed animals established diets.
Administer basic medications.
Record information such as feeding schedules, medication administration, behavior, and appearance of animals.
Monitor & communicate with rescue’s clinic health concerns of onsite animals.
Maintain cleanliness and presentation of facility; appropriately handle hazardous material.
Provide tender loving care to the adoption center animals, including enrichment activities.
Laundry (wash, dry, fold, bag) as needed from other ECPR facilities & Emerald City Pet Rescue.
Exhibit regular and timely attendance; professionally represent the organization
Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Graduation from high school required; BA/BS degree preferred.
2+ years’ experience in a professional office setting or equivalent.
The ability to pass a background check.
Ability to learn and efficiently use various computer programs and basic office equipment.
Retail sales experience a plus.
Detail-oriented, proactive; ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Previous experience working directly with animals.
A genuine love and compassion for animals.
Self-motivated; willing to work individually and as part of a small team.
Ability to work under stressful conditions with a positive “can do” attitude.
Excellent customer service skills
The ability to extensively interact with the public in a professional and appropriate manner.
Flexibility and patience; excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
Readiness for a somewhat physically demanding job.
