Mercer County Housing Authority Another event was also unfolding in Mercer County, and that was the creation of the Mercer County Housing Authority.

Our mission is to provide safe, decent, and affordable housing choices throughout Mercer County for lower-income families, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities. In 1943, the Pentagon is completed, rationing for WWII limited meat, butter and cheese availability, the Jitterbug was the most popular dance, and Joe Namath, Mick Jagger, and George Harrison were all born. Originally, the Housin

g Authority began as a result of a housing shortage for workers needed during the war years. The first development was a185 unit trailer community.
