Curious how to help your child prepare for a Fendig audition?

The best preparation is simple: encourage them to come ready to be themselves.

At auditions, we like to hear participants sing (usually “Happy Birthday”), speak a few provided combinations, and let their personality shine through. No fancy monologue, costume, or special prep needed.

At Fendig Theatre for Children, auditions are meant to be welcoming, encouraging, and fun. They are an opportunity for us to get to know each other, build community, and start an unforgettable summer together.

It’s Audition Week! Learn more about how you can join us at auditions for The Magician’s Elephant beginning May 14 & 15 from 4:30 - 7:00 or May 16 from 10 - Noon. It’s free to participate in our program and everyone receives a role. Children grades 4 -8 are encouraged to audition.

⭐️Monday: See us at Creative Club where you can explore creative arts through instructor-led crafts for each age group.

💡Wednesday: Join us at Open Lab where you can use all our supplies, tools and create something wonderful. You can bring your own projects or we can help you get started or use a new material.

🐘Thursday - Saturday: Auditions! Be sure to sign up at our website and read all the FAQs with dates for the summer and more. Auditions take place at Fendig Headquarters at 503 S. The Magician's Elephant, our summer performance, highlights a wonderful puppet - A giant elephant.

While these are reference images from another production, we can't wait to create our own version to bring something colossal and magical to the Fendig stage.

⭐️Wednesday-Open Lab where you can use Fendig tools, supplies and ideas to use your creative skills and make something together.

🎭Thursday - Puppets Workshops where we work together to bring storytelling, creating and acting to life.

Spring programs are starting to approach the end dates as we prepare for our summer program so join us at a program you have been interested in! 🐘Our summer signature performance of "The Magician's Elephant" is July 9-11. At Fendig Theatre for Children, everyone has a place to try, grow and find out if the skills you learn are things you like or don’ t like. You have permission to try without judgment and change your mind if you find another skill that you want to go after. Everyone, adults and children, deserve a safe place & permission to play.

Open Lab - Come on in to make things together. Use our craft supplies, 3D printer, Chomp Saw, sewing machine and MORE.

⏰You don’t have to come the full duration if you are busy later in the evening but we’d love to see you afterschool to create togerher.

💡Not sure what open lab is? Open Lab is a creative space where imagination takes the lead.Together we explore hands-on creative projects in theatre, art, and design. Begin with guided starter activities provided by us, then bring your own ideas to life. You can even bring your own projects. Share and bring a friend.

Being on stage helped them learn important skills like discipline, confidence and team building in addition to creative and performing arts skills. It goes to show that you are never too young or old to try something new. Tag someone or a their parent who you think should participate in our programs in the comments.

Open Lab is tonight from 3 - 6:30 p.m.

✂️Open Lab is the perfect place to put your creative skills to the test and MAKE things. Use Fendig’s supplies to dream up creations like watercolor art, cardboard creations, 3D prints, whimsical room decor and MORE.

⭐️This participant lead activity is perfect for the student who likes to play in art class, engineers who like to put things together and the student who just likes to experiment with different creative tools.

🎭We hope to see you tonight at Fendig Headquarters and make something magical together. Share and bring a friend.
