Healing Is Not a Straight Line — It’s a Journey of Courage and Support
May is Mental Health Awareness Month—a reminder that healing rarely happens all at once. It happens in steps. In setbacks. In moments of courage. And in the presence of people who believe change is possible.
Gloria was referred to Triangle Family Services Supervised Visitation program after a mental health episode led to domestic violence and the loss of custody of her children. Living with bipolar disorder, she understood that rebuilding her life—and her family—would require time, treatment, and unwavering commitment.
As Gloria began supervised visitation with her children, the TFS team became a steady, trusted presence. Their consistency and compassion helped her feel safe enough to share openly—something she hadn’t felt able to do in a long time. Through that trust, staff encouraged her to enroll in our DOSE Domestic Violence Intervention program, where she will begin learning new tools for communication, accountability, and emotional regulation.
Today, Gloria continues to strengthen her mental health, deepen her parenting skills, and rebuild a future grounded in stability and hope. Her journey is not linear—but it is forward. And it is courageous.
This Mental Health Awareness Month, we honor Gloria’s resilience and the many families who find healing through the integrated support of Triangle Family Services.
