Less screen, more seen! What if the next big classroom shift isn’t more technology, but more intentional human connection?

As schools rethink screen time, one thing remains clear: students need opportunities to connect, build relationships, and practice the skills that bring us closer. Explore why the pendulum is swinging toward real connection:

For over a decade, the conversation around educational technology seemed to really only be moving in one direction: more. More devices, apps, digital resources, one-to-one programs, interactive whiteboards, learning platforms, videos, online assignments, and the list goes on.

Friendzy is excited to be part of CLS in Grand Rapids in just a few short weeks!

We’re looking forward to fellowshipping with educators and school leaders for a few days of learning, encouragement, and conversations about what it really takes to help students feel known, valued, and connected.

And, of course, we’ll be bringing a little Friendzy fun along with us! Come find the Friendzies, say hello, and let’s chat about how we can help schools foster classroom cultures where everyone feels seen, supported, and like they belong!

What does belonging look like? Sometimes, it looks like this: dozens of unique faces, personalities, and individual stories where each and every one of them add something special.

We love how this Friendzy school in Toledo brought the “We Need Each Other” lesson to life, reminding students that there’s a place for every face, story, and person in their school community.

One incredible preschool educator had the idea of bringing our beloved "Friendzy Friends" to life in the most creative way: by crocheting these adorable little friends for her preschool students.

Each one is handmade–yes, even Luna the Llama, unique, and a tangible reminder that every child is known, valued, and has a place in their classroom.

We love seeing educators take Friendzy and make it their own; because sometimes your gifts become the very thing that helps a child feel seen!

Schools are built on strong leadership AND strong relationships! That’s why Friendzy is proud to sponsor the Cognia® Non-Public Schools Leadership Conference this October.

We’re excited to join school leaders for two days of learning, connection, and conversations about strengthening schools from the inside out, including Joy Roberts, Ed.D.’s session, “Building Belonging: It Starts With Us!”

Because before students can experience belonging, educators need to feel it, too. Our session explores practical ways to build trust, strengthen team connection, and create a school culture where every adult feels supported and valued. Learn more about our session: https://shorturl.at/kmPCr

If you’ll be at Cognia, come say hello to the Friendzies! 👋

Classrooms are typically buzzing with excitement, and that's great; however, when it comes at the cost of focus, students miss out on valuable learning. Here are three simple ways to keep your school routine strong and your students engaged and focused in the classroom.

Want a calmer start to the school day? Start with the first 5 minutes!

Try these five simple routines:

👋 1. The Doorway Moment: Greet students by name and make them feel welcomed before they even sit down.

📋 2. A Predictable Start: Begin each day with something students can count on: a question, reflection, journal prompt, or quick “would you rather.”

🌦️ 3. A Quick Emotional Check-In: Give students a low-pressure way to share how they’re doing, from thumbs up/sideways/down to a daily check-in tool.

🧘 4. A 60-Second Reset: Take one breath, stretch, or pause for a quick guided reflection before diving into the day.

💛 5. Name What Matters: Remind students what you want your classroom to be: “You belong here.” “Mistakes are part of learning.” “We take care of each other.”

The best part? You don’t have to do all five; pick one, make it yours, then keep it consistent. Because the goal isn’t a perfectly managed classroom, it’s a connected one.

Strong schools start with strong teams!

The "Friendzies" enjoyed time this week with Central Catholic in Indianapolis, exploring how understanding our unique strengths can transform the way we communicate, collaborate, and care for one another. The results: when educators better understand themselves and one another, collaboration grows, burnout decreases, and school communities become stronger for everyone.

We can't wait to see how you'll put these ideas into action in your schools! Interested in bringing this PD session to your school? Connect today: https://shorturl.at/5Pkpz
