We are in the process of building a Veterans Memorial Park at the Post 2678. We would like to thank Commander Dan Woolfrey and the entire VFW Wells McComas Post 2678. The VFW Auxiliary's code of ethics outlines the importance of integrity, honesty, and professional conduct. VFW's core values include promoting patriotism, honoring military service, and serving the needs of veterans families and Community. "We will not dim the glory of their deeds"!

Our mission is to collect, preserve and interpret the rich history of Sparrows Point/ North Point for the education and enjoyment of present and future generations.

We are proud to present "The Fractured Past of Industrial Royalty", an extraordinary gift from the Sparrows Point North Point Historical Society to Baltimore County Parks and Recreation. This significant piece, the WF36 ( Wide Fl**ge 36), was acquired in 2017 and served as the main support beam for the Administration Building of Bethlehem Steel Corporation, standing as a testament to our regions industrial heritage. Weighing over 5500 pounds, it embodies the strength and resilience of our Community. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Titan Industries for their exceptional work in sanding, priming, and painting this vital piece of history. Special thanks go to Justin and Charlie (TIA) for their invaluable assistance in constructing the "I" beam foundations. We also appreciate Buddy McGowan for the generous storage provided, and to the 37 Operating Engineers Mike-Jason- and Nick- for their dedication in transporting and caring for the beam over the past 7 years. This remarkable effort represents an inspiring In-Kind-Donation to the Sparrows Point North Point Historical Society, showcasing the commitment of our community to preserve and honor our industrial past.

Getting ready to break ground for the Veterans Memorial/Gateway at the Wells McComas VFW Post 2678. See Dan Woolfrey or me to purchase a brick for the Memorial. Proceeds from the brick fund raiser goes directly to the memorial and honoring our Veterans. This will be the pearl of the community. TY!

To purchase bricks for the Veterans Memorial/ Edgemere Gateway. Step 1) Go to SPNPHS.ORG, my historical society website. 2.) Click on http://polarengraving.com/spnphs. This will take you to the brick order website. You will see the VFW symbol/the memorial, the cost of the bricks, etc. Step 3: Scan down past the clip art to start to place your order. Name, street, email, phone, etc. Once you get past the email address, you will see Clipart when you click yes scan up to the clip art collection and select one, army, navy, vfw, etc. Step 4.) Select brick size 5.) Total amount ex: $110.00 for a 4x8. Click continue 6.) You will see your brick with the clip art you selcted. 7.) Now you have 3 lines and 15 characters to choose from. Ex: ALL CAPS LINE ONE: "IN HONOR OF" LINE 2: KEITH TAYLOR LINE3: KOREA 1977-1978 8.) Preview your brick 10.) Payment details * Stripe (credit card) or check by mail. When you select Stripe, you will fill out your credit card information, and you're good to go 3.5 % fee to me for using the credit card.11.) If you select, check to make it out to SPNPHS and mail that to Keith Taylor 7218 river drive rd 21219. You will receive a 4x4 replica tile in black granite that shows what you've placed on the brick to take home as a gift from the VFW and Historical Society. Please give me a call if you have problems. The Veterans Memorial/Gateway at the Wells and McComas post 2678 is moving right along. We had the digital sign delivered Friday. It looks great! If you haven't ordered a brick for the garden please message me.
