Healing the Children Kentucky is still apart of Kroger Community Rewards Program! Even if you have previously signed up for the program last year, you will need to renew it! This is a simple and easy way for Kroger shoppers to support us through their normal Kroger purchases.

Thank you to Norton Children’s Hospital, Dr Priscilla Bond and U of L Pediatrics anesthesia specialist Dr Ryan Swain, Amran underwent dental surgery last week. She had several severely decayed teeth removed and 8 capped. Within just hours she told us her teeth were not hurting anymore!

We recently received an update from our partners in Burkina Faso on our little guy, Ganiou. Since his surgery and return home to his family, he is doing well, healthy and thriving. We are so grateful for positive updates and we hope for continued blessings over him and his family!

We are so excited that all of Amran’s medical appointments since her release from the hospital have cleared her to go home! We are currently working out details for her return to Ethiopia but Covid is effecting travel. We are hoping she will be headed back to her family soon!

HTCKY celebrated big this easter weekend with the discharge of Amran from Norton Children’s Hospital. We are so grateful for the team that cared for her during her month long stay. Please continue to pray she will make a full recovery in preparation for her return home to Ethiopia!

Ms Amran from Ethiopia is still here in the USA! She was scheduled to return home the weekend of March 13th but her last doctor’s visit showed fluid was building up in her chest cavity, an unfortunate but not totally unusual complication of her heart repair. She was hospitalized with two chest tubes to drain fluid on March 10th. After 23 days now, and a very strict diet, she is slowly improving. Her spirits remain high!

Yesterday was National Doctors Day! Here at HTCKY, we are especially grateful for the Doctors at Norton Childrens Hospital for the work they do with our inbound program children!
Also, during this pandemic, we are grateful for all healthcare workers and difference they are making in fighting this virus.
