Some Spokane Police Facts…

1881 Spokane Police was founded.

1887 Spokane’s first police uniform was worn.

1911 Police Chief John T. Sullivan was assassinated at his home, believed to be targeted for his attempts to end local gambling and prostitution.

The total number of Washington state law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty is 269.

In 2026 there are 356 Spokane Police officers. All of whom put their lives at risk to help our community. 💙💙💙 Thank you!

In 2025, 111 officers died.
