We had a great time today teaching children at Kelley Lake Elementary School how to build a vegetable garden 🪴 from the ground up using raised beds. Today we planted collards , cabbage, and romaine lettuce. Thanks to the volunteers for their service and sponsors Axis Capitol and Home Depot for their support. We couldn’t do this important work without you. It’s important to teach our children sustainable living practices to grow and harvest their own food.

On this -we are remembering our Gardens are for Kids program and how much the children enjoy learning where their food comes from. We teach children practical agricultural lessons about how to grow a vegetable garden and harvest from farm to table. We believe if you teach children how to plant and grow their own food, they will grow up with healthier habits and likely avoid obesity, diabetes, and hypertension.
