She is now 11 years old and has a 9 year old little brother, Jordan Brock Tran and a 4 year old sister Abigail(who was also diagnosed with Ganglionueroblastoma, a cancerous tumor) and Baby sister Tobi Nevaeh Tran. Like every parent we try our best to give our kids the best and protect them from harm. Unfortunately we can not control everything. Rylie was admitted to OU Children’s hospital with a h
igh fever and a blister on her ankle. Initial diagnosis was she had a bone infection, which will take 6 weeks to treat. She was rushed into surgery to clean out the infection and will be on antibiotics for the next 6 weeks. Blood work was done along with other tests. Rylie was diagnosed with Leukemia A.L.L. Pre-B on her 3rd birthday, June 1, 2009. You wouldn’t think there could be anything worse than to hear that your kid has cancer, but hearing that on her birthday made it even worse. We had a big birthday bash planned for her but unfortunately had to cancel. We ended up celebrating her birthday at OU Children’s hospital. Fortunately she was well enough to enjoy the festivities. Thru it all Rylie was able to endure all the pain, suffering and side affects (the list was endless and VERY scary). She is now in Remission and cancer free!!! Rylie has been an inspiration to our family, friends and even strangers. Everyone have been using her story to help raise money to help fund research and hopefully someday find a cure for this awful disease. We started a Non-Profit Organization in honor of Rylie, called “F.A.I.T.H. Kids”, (Faith is Rylie’s middle name), which stands for Fighting Against Illnesses To Heal Kids. Her courage, resilience and relentless battle has lifted our spirits and reminded us what matters most. Our Faith, our Family and our Friends! We can not wait until the day she gets to “Ring the bell, 3 times well its toll to clearly say, her treatment’s done, this course is run and she is on her way!”
