We are fortunate to have a new member joining our team. Tonight we voted in Mr John Carter as a full member to the Moro VFD team. We are thankful to the members of our community that are willing to donate their time to help serve!

We did fire safety week with Lawn Volunteer Fire Department at lawn elementary school then hopped over to tiny tribe to try and teach the little little kids some fire safety! Thank you to the teachers and staff for letting us interrupt their school day.

🇺🇸 WE WILL NEVER FORGET. 9/11/2001
25 years later, the weight of September 11, 2001 still reaches far beyond the streets of New York City.
On that morning, 343 firefighters and countless other first responders ran toward danger while the rest of the world was trying to escape it. They made the ultimate sacrifice doing what they had sworn to do—protecting others.
Their sacrifice changed our country. It changed the fire service. And it changed every generation of first responders who came after them.
This year, Moro Volunteer Fire Department is honored to take part in the 25th Anniversary of 9/11 Memorial Ceremony and Stair Climb at Shotwell Stadium in Abilene. We will be bringing one of our fire trucks to stand alongside fellow firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS, and members of our community as we remember those who gave everything 25 years ago.
For us here in Taylor County, this is more than an event.
It is a reminder that the courage, sacrifice, and brotherhood demonstrated on September 11th are values that continue to live on in firehouses across this country—including right here at home.
We climb for those who never made it down.
We remember those who gave their lives.
We honor the families who were left behind.
And we stand together so that their sacrifice is never forgotten.

🇺🇸 343 firefighters.

343 lives.

One nation.

Never forgotten.

Moro VFD is proud to stand with our fellow first responders and our community on September 11, 2026.
Honor. Remember. Never Forget. ❤️🤍💙
