Thank you to the team from First Interstate Bank for spending their annual volunteer day with us!

They packed 100 bags of everyday essentials for our Tier 1 participants as they begin their journey with Stone Soup. Each bag includes a hygiene kit, a journal and pen, socks, a water bottle and snacks, plus a personal note of encouragement, a reminder that we have their back and want them to succeed.

We’re grateful for this partnership and look forward to more projects together.

Beyond the comfort and style, what makes this donation extra special is how it came to be: a graduate of our program shared their experience with MISE, inspiring them to reach out and support us. It’s an incredible reminder of the lasting impact our community creates.

Welcome to the ring! It’s time for the 2nd annual Soup Showdown, presented by Stone Soup PDX. Tickets are now live!

On November 7, 14 brilliant chefs will face off with their best bowls of soup. Taste, vote, and cheer on your favorites while supporting Stone Soup PDX’s culinary training program. Every ticket helps Portlanders build meaningful culinary skills and prepare for jobs after the program.

This year, we’re taking over Midtown B**r Garden on Saturday, November 7th, featuring an incredible chef lineup and guest judges.

Your ticket gets you in, but it supports something much bigger. By attending this event, you are supporting our culinary training program for individuals with barriers to employment.

Congratulations to Samantha Rodriguez on wrapping up her summer internship with Stone Soup PDX! ✨

Joining us through the Portland Internship Program (PIE), Sam was such a huge help across the board! From assisting with the new rebrand to keeping campaigns moving and capturing amazing content at the cafe and during programming, she jumped right in. 📸

Her favorite lesson from the summer: "Do work you're proud of, for people who care."

Such a great day at the Volunteer Expo!

We loved connecting with so many other organizations, meeting new people, and sharing more about what we do at Stone Soup PDX. There’s something really special about being surrounded by so many people working to make Portland a better place.

At Stone Soup, we take prep stations seriously because that is where careers begin.

Behind every finely diced clove of garlic is a student mastering knife skills, kitchen safety, and professional discipline. Our culinary training program goes beyond teaching recipes. We equip trainees with industry certifications and hands-on experience so they can step confidently into long term careers.

We do not just teach folks how to cook. We prepare them to thrive in the workforce long after graduation.
