Undam the Klamath!
The four Klamath River dams were going to be removed in just a few years – an agreement was reached and funding was secured. Then, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission complicated things by requiring that the dam owners, PacifiCorp, be listed on the removal license. Now the process has stalled, PacifiCorp is dragging its feet, and the dams continue to block important salmon habitat.
Salmon from the Klamath river are an important source of food for Southern Resident orcas and are listed as a priority Chinook stock! The Southern Residents needs healthy salmon runs throughout their range, including the Klamath. PacifiCorp and Berkshire Hathaway - please honor your promise to the Klamath River tribes, and remove the dams to benefit Klamath River salmon and Southern Resident orcas.
