MVMA Charities

The MVMA Charities (MVMAC) has two key programs to help protect and serve the pet communities of Massachusetts.

We provide assistance to a variety of animal welfare programs throughout Massachusetts as the charitable branch of the

"Protecting the lives and enhancing the futures of animals across Massachusetts." STRAY ANIMAL PROGRAM:
Provides financial assistance for emergency veterinary care of unowned animals so they can be rehabilitated and re-homed. Funds are made available to every cit

y and town in Massachusetts. EMERGENCY AND DISASTER PREPAREDNESS PROGRAMS:
Provide materials and education for first responders so that they can effectively address animal-related emergencies. This includes distributing pet oxygen mask kits to fire stations and training fire fighters and EMS in basic animal first aid across Massachusetts. We've also provided funding for the State of Massachusetts Animal Response Team (SMART), Pawsitive Pantry to assist with pet food distribution to food pantries, and Mass Vest-A-Dog to purchase equipment for police K9 officers.

This pup was found by WAYLAND, MA POLICE DEPARTMENT animal control emaciated, with long nails, and suffering a UTI. Our friends at Apple Country Animal Hospital fixed her up and we're proud to have funded her care so she has a second chance at a happy life!

We are SO honored that the amazing students of Medford Public Schools Missituk School PTO selected our charity to receive a generous donation from their fundraiser for the Center for Citizenship and Social Responsibility. This pup was taken in by Billerica & Tewksbury Animal Control with a double ear infection, UTI, and burst cyst. She was given a second chance and we're proud to have funded her care at Billerica Veterinary Hospital.

These guinea pigs were found by Plainville MA Police Department animal control abandoned in the woods during a heat wave. They suffered heat stroke and had mites. We're proud to have funded their care at Holmes Family Veterinary Clinic and are thrilled they're getting a second chance!

Today we highlight the importance of planning for pets’ safety BEFORE disaster strikes. Be prepared for a disaster with a pet evacuation kit, know what to look for after a disaster, and be sure you seek veterinary attention if your pet is injured.
