A trafficking survivor in her mid-twenties was recently referred to our CSED jail diversion program after we met her at a sting operation. She came from an abusive home, had been homeless and s*x trafficked by a pimp for years, and had recently been engaging in survival s*x just to feed and clothe herself.

She showed up to her first CSED program meeting (classroom pictured) stating she was only there to "get this off her record." But by the end of the emotionally supportive group session, she had totally changed her mind. She later said she expected a boring video presentation like traffic school and was shocked at how much emotional and practical help Without Permission actually made immediately available.

Nearing the end of her program now, she is making great progress toward improving her situation in life. She says she was especially grateful for the support when her Navigator came with her to her court dates. She’d always felt alone but now she doesn’t, and that is making her believe she can have a better life.

This is life-changing work. We are so glad you are a part of our community of care!

Today we're celebrating a milestone. Katherine Grayson, our Finance Director, has been serving at Without Permission for 10 years! She started as a volunteer and continued to grow and serve in her capacity over the last decade. Her integrity, excellence, attention to detail, and deep compassion for the survivors we serve has developed her into a critical piece of the Without Permission leadership team. The way she serves day in and day out has helped grow our organization and positioned us to be healthier and more well rounded in our community as we move forward into the future. The 2026 community brunch was a smashing success! All of Modesto came together to impact the youth in our community in a spectacular way.

A heartfelt thank you to the Costa Family Foundation, and to every volunteer, guest, and participant who helped contribute to this year’s brunch. Together, we are ending s*x trafficking right here in the Central Valley. Can’t wait for next year!
