💙🏡 HOPE. SECOND CHANCES. NEW BEGINNINGS.

Sometimes, the most powerful words are the ones that remind us why we do what we do.

At our recent Mardi Gras Gala, we were incredibly blessed to have a talented poet share her gift of words with us. She created this beautiful, heartfelt piece of writing that perfectly captures the mission, purpose, and heart of Community of Hope. Her words are a powerful reminder of what hope truly means and the life-changing impact of second chances. 💙

What a beautiful reminder of the power of hope and the difference we can make when we extend our hands to others. ❤️

At Community of Hope, we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity for a fresh start. For the families we serve, hope can look like a safe place to sleep, a key to a front door, a bed of their own, or simply knowing that someone believes in them.

But what makes that hope possible?

YOU.

Our donors, volunteers, churches, community partners, and supporters who give so generously of their time, talents, and resources.

As this beautiful writing reminds us, hope flows first from the goodness of God and then through the hearts of those who have experienced second chances and want to share that blessing with others.

✨ Because hope was never meant to be kept to ourselves. It was meant to be shared.

Every family housed, every child who has a bed to call their own, and every new beginning is a reminder that together, we are changing lives right here in Brevard County.

🍦🦆 It's National Dessert Day, and we've got something SWEET to share! 🍨🍰

At our recent Mardi Gras Gala, guests received special bags filled with information and goodies from some of our amazing sponsors and community partners.

One of our favorites came from St. Paul's Lutheran Church, who tucked an adorable little rubber ducky into the bags with a message that made us smile:

While they may not be serving up Blizzards, St. Paul's Lutheran Church certainly knows how to sprinkle a little joy, laughter, and sweetness into our community!

🎉💜 Please join us in congratulating Brittney on her well-deserved promotion to Operations Manager at Community of Hope! 💜🎉

If you know Brittney, you know she is someone who gives 100% to everything she does! Day in and day out, she pours her heart into Community of Hope, our mission, and the families we serve.

Brittney wears many hats and has an incredible understanding of nearly every aspect of our agency. Whether she's assisting a family, supporting her coworkers, solving a problem, or stepping in wherever an extra hand is needed, she does it with dedication, compassion, and a willingness to go above and beyond.

What makes Brittney so special is that she doesn't just show up to do a job - she shows up to make a difference. She understands that behind every application, every phone call, and every challenge is a person or family counting on us.

And as if her dedication to Community of Hope wasn't enough, Brittney is also continuing her education! She is on track to graduate in May 2027 with a degree in Organizational Management within the Nonprofit Sector. What makes this even more meaningful is that she is already taking what she learns in the classroom and putting it into practice every day, strengthening both her leadership skills and our organization.

Brittney's hard work, commitment, growth, and heart for serving others have not gone unnoticed. This promotion is a reflection of the trust she has earned, the leadership she continues to demonstrate, and the difference she makes within our agency.

We are incredibly blessed to have Brittney as part of the Community of Hope family, and we cannot wait to see all she accomplishes in this new role!

A MESSAGE FROM DREW WARREN, CEO: Thank you to everyone expressing concern for Community of Hope and specifically our Thrift Store, Beacon Thrift. We are thankful that this shattered door was not the result of an attempted break-in or criminal activity on our property.

We are also very grateful that, at this time, it appears that there are no injuries related to the incident which occured at the 7-11 on Palm Bay Road. Sometime in the overnight hours, shots were fired in the convenience store parking lot. The gunfire struck the door of the Community of Hope building and was discovered when we arrived this morning to help a group using the building for Mahjong classes.

The Palm Bay Police responded very quickly and identified the cause of the damage to the door. As the shooting the prior night had gone unreported, detectives were able to recover evidence and begin investigation. It is our sincere hope that the evidence we provided will help lead to an arrest and that anyone else with information on the party or parties involved in the shooting at the 7-11 come forward immediately.

The City of Palm Bay Police Department exemplified the caring and professionalism that makes our city great! However, it takes all of us prioritizing the well-being of our neighbors to ensure that such incidents do not occur and that our children are able to grow and thrive in a safe community that inspires hope for a bright future.

🍂 Community of Hope – Holiday Closure Notice 🍂

In observance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day, Community of Hope will be closed on Monday, October 12, 2026.

Today, we take time to recognize and honor the rich history, cultures, traditions, and contributions of Indigenous peoples throughout our nation.

Our offices will reopen on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, during regular business hours.

Thank you for your understanding, and we wish everyone a safe and meaningful holiday!

This week's partner organization highlight is Community Of Hope, Brevard. Community of Hope has been an important partner with Gifts From The Heart since 2018!

Community of Hope helps families experiencing homelessness move from crisis to stability - not simply by providing a place to live, but by walking alongside them with housing, resources, accountability, and support as they build a path toward lasting self-sufficiency.

We have loved getting to know their families over the last 8 years and are grateful to Executive Director Drew and the Community of Hope staff for your continued partnership.

🎂💙 Community Building Community 💙🎂

We are so incredibly blessed to have wonderful community partners like Birthday Blessings Brevard who continually go above and beyond for the children and families we serve.

For the children in our Transitional Housing Program, a birthday celebration may seem like a small thing - but to a child, it can mean everything. It reminds them that they are seen, they are valued, and they are worthy of being celebrated, regardless of the circumstances their family may be walking through.

Birthday Blessings makes sure our kids have those special moments. They consistently go the extra mile to bring smiles, excitement, and a little bit of normalcy to children who have experienced more uncertainty than any child should have to face.

These are the partnerships that make our community so special. ❤️ We know that Community of Hope cannot do this work alone, and we are incredibly grateful for organizations that come alongside our families and love them so well.

💜💚💛 WHAT A NIGHT! 💛💚💜

Community of Hope’s Mardi Gras Gala was an incredible evening of celebration, generosity, community, and HOPE!

But the success of this Gala is about so much more than one amazing night.

Every ticket purchased, sponsorship given, auction bid placed, donation made, and hour volunteered helps Community of Hope continue doing what matters most - helping families in our community move from homelessness and housing instability toward safety, stability, and a brighter future.

Because of the generosity in that room, families will have opportunities for safe housing. Parents will have someone walking alongside them as they work toward self-sufficiency. Children will have the security that comes from knowing where they are going to sleep at night. And families who may have felt like they were out of options will be reminded that their community has not forgotten them.

That is what this night was truly about. ❤️

We are incredibly grateful to our sponsors, donors, community partners, volunteers, Gala Committee, Board of Directors, staff, auction contributors, and every single person who attended, gave, bid, shared, or supported this event.
