Open Hearts Community Mission Privately funded 501(c)3, faith-based, non-clinical, non-convalescent, community supported, volunteer staffed. For Bulloch County residents.

Schedule appointments by calling 912-623-2528. Service animals accepted. Open Hearts Community Mission is a local, community funded 501c3 Rescue Mission Shelter. It offers two programs which operate with High Standards, Strong Boundaries and Clear Direction. The Friends & Neighbors Program is short-term shelter; New Life Institute is crafted to the needs of the individual. The Mission is for men, women and families. There is non-tolerance for drugs, alcohol, tobacco (designated smoking areas), violence or threat of violence. All services are Christ-centered. Each participant is assigned a financial counselor and mentor if necessary (some may already have mentors through outside programs) with the goal of character development and skills acquisition. We are not a rehab or convalescent care facility.

What a special evening at Open Hearts Community Mission as we celebrated the grand opening and dedication of our new Family Wing!

Words simply cannot express the depth of our gratitude to this community and to the generous donors and supporters who helped make this dream a reality. What began as a vision is now a beautiful space where families experiencing homelessness can find safety, stability, hope, and a place to begin again.

The evening was made even more meaningful as several of our former residents helped lead our program. To see those who once walked through our doors needing a helping hand now standing with us to celebrate and share in this moment was incredibly special.

And there was another exciting announcement! The Leadership Bulloch Class of 2026 unveiled their class project, the Open Hearts Community Mission Play and Safety Initiative! They will be fencing in our backyard and adding a playground for the children who call Open Hearts home. A project that will impact our littlest friends for many years to come. More children, a bigger space to play, and a safe place for them to simply be kids. The timing could not be more perfect!

Following the dedication, we welcomed our community inside for an open house, tours, fellowship, and refreshments.

Above all, we dedicated this new wing to the glory of God. We are deeply grateful for every person who gave, prayed, worked, volunteered, encouraged, and believed in this mission.

Our hearts are full. ❤️
