If you need a reason to smile today, we certainly have it here at Northern Neck Partners for Pets. We have a spectacular lineup of kittens who are just starting out on their big adventures. They’ve already braved their first vaccinations. They just need a few more weeks to get their second round, and then they will be ready to go home with you. We have so many different purring personalities to choose from... non-stop funny rascals who attack your shoelaces like a prize, active adventurers, sweet cuddlers, and the shy sidekicks just waiting for someone to make them feel safe.
We know the kittens get a lot of attention, but if you want an older companion, we have many great ones to choose from. All our adult cats have a distinct personality too. Whether you want a quiet lap cat, an independent supervisor for your home, or a funny comical cat, we have one who will fit perfectly into your home and family. We are open today between 11am and 3pm at 790 Devil's Bottom Road in Lancaster, Virginia. Be prepared to smile and be filled with love.

Butch is an endearing 2 year old boy with an adorable face. He is looking for a new beginning after a heartbreaking loss. Butch came to us after his owner sadly passed away, leaving no next of kin to care for him and his housemates (another dog and 2 cats). While his older sister Bindi has already found her forever home, Butch is still waiting patiently for his own second chance at happiness. It didn't take long for Butch to become a staff favorite because of his affectionate and loving nature. He is a great on a leash, and there is nothing he loves more than a good roll on his back in the play yard. Butch seems to do well with other dogs and has successfully lived with cats. He also loves toys of any kind. Butch has been through a lot of changes, but his resilient, sweet personality has him ready to bond with a new family. If you are looking for a loving, easygoing dog to love, please come meet Butch today between 11am and 3pm at the Northern Neck Partners for Pets Shelter in Lancaster, Virginia.

One year ago this sweetie was in our shelter. He was about 3 months old. My sister-in law adopted him. Meet Baylee a happy boy who is so loved. Following up with successful adoptions warms the heart. He was at the right place at the right time. My sister-in-law had lost her Pittie a short time before she met this guy. It was love at first sight. She adopted him that day❤️

It’s raining Kittens, Cats and Dogs at the Northern Neck Partners for Pets. We have beautiful very young kittens including calicos. And in our Cat room we have beautiful healthy loving adults from Tuxedos to beautiful orange. And a Siamese mix who is loving and gorgeous. She had three kittens but none carried her Siamese gene.

🌟 Calling All Cat Lovers! 🌟

Many of you already know and love Starling, our tiny blind kitten with a huge personality.

For those who haven't met her, Starling came to us at just 4–5 weeks old after being found alone in a parking lot with severely damaged eyes. Someone at the location intended to "end her suffering," but thankfully a compassionate person stepped in and brought her to Northern Neck Partners for Pets instead.

Starling spent her first couple of weeks in foster care with one of our shelter managers where an early veterinary exam confirmed what we suspected; she was completely blind, likely due to a severe eye infection as a newborn. At the time, she wasn't in pain, so the recommendation was to let her grow, monitor her condition, and plan for surgery when she was older and stronger.

Over the past five months, Starling has blossomed into one of the most unforgettable kittens we've ever cared for. She's a true sour-patch kid sometimes sweet, sometimes sassy, but always full of confidence. She struts through the cat room like she owns the place, steals hearts wherever she goes, and never lets her blindness slow her down. She climbs, plays with toys, wrestles with other kittens, and tackles every challenge life throws at her.

Last week, Starling returned to the veterinarian for a recheck. While she is still not in pain, her eyes are beginning to cause discomfort, and the time has finally come. Now weighing over 4 pounds, Starling is scheduled for a double enucleation (eye removal surgery) and her spay procedure.

As a small nonprofit rescue, we are committed to providing every animal in our care with the medical treatment they need not just to survive, but to thrive. However, surgeries like Starling's come at a significant cost, and we need your help.

If Starling's story has touched your heart, please consider making a donation toward her surgery and recovery. Every dollar helps and every contribution makes a difference.

Dixie is a charming 2 to 3 year old sweetheart who will gladly give you endless love day after day. ❤️
Dixie’s favorite place will be right by your side, whether you are relaxing on the couch or heading out for an adventure. She just wants to be part of the action. Dixie is a leash walking dream, making her the perfect partner for neighborhood walks or weekend hikes. She adores human connection and loves attention. Dixie is looking for a cat-free environment where she can be the center of your world. While she may do well with a submissive dog sibling, she would be just as happy (if not happier) being your one and only, soaking up all the love you have to give. 💕
If you’re looking for a devoted, ball-loving, easy-walking companion, Dixie is waiting to meet you at Northern Neck Partners for Pets in Lancaster, Virginia. Adoption hours are between 11 and 3pm, Thursdays through Mondays.
