Did you know approximately 10% of Medicare beneficiaries are under age 65 qualified through having a disability? It was our pleasure to reach many of these individuals today at Summit Family YMCA of Newnan’s THRIVE Disability Resource Fair on how they can prevent, detect, and report fraud in Medicare. It was a fun and empowering event!

We are proud to announce Georgia Senior Medicare Patrol as a presenting level sponsor of Athens-Clarke County Police Department’s Vulnerable Person’s Registry (VPR). This new program will help law enforcement and other emergency personal better understand, support, and respond to individuals with unique needs, such as those with dementia. Our Team Lead Nathan Coflin attended the VPR launch event for this program today and we are proud to work alongside the ACCPD to help protect vulnerable populations in the Athens Georgia community.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Jo Taylor from First Baptist Church of Covington, GA for having our wonderful volunteer Shirley Thomas out yesterday to speak at their widows luncheon. It was a very welcoming group and Shirley enjoyed the opportunity to present on the SMP mission of healthcare fraud prevention.
