Our second event today was held at the Shiloh American Legion 791 Home Association to benefit York Pa ToysforTots. BIG Thank you to CJ Hoffman and her Feed the Vets group of ladies for putting this together with 3 bands to battle it out. $1079+ was earned along with the generous $5000 donation from the Shiloh American Legion 791 Home Association! Great way to start the Toys for Tots new season. CJ, we know you have a lot of love for helping our York county children and each year you show it even more! Thanks to all that came out and enjoyed the bands, food and laughter with all present!

We had a wonderful time seeing friends at The AVHRRC Veterans Commemoration Event and Salute to Our Vietnam Veterans. Thanks to our Detachment members who were able to come out to enjoy the food, music and talk with other veterans and their families!

Congratulations to Ethan James Bailey on his promotion to Eagle Scout! First Capitol Marine Dave Brady and Associate Julie Wheeler were on hand to present the Marine Corps League Good Citizenship Certificate and a First Capitol Challenge Coin during his Court of Honor held at the Manchester Township Municipal Building on September 26. For his Eagle Scout Service Project, Ethan planned, organized, and led volunteers in support of the revitalization of Eagle's View Park in Manchester Township, York County. His project included designing and constructing multiple bird nesting boxes and nesting ledges, as well as assembling picnic tables and benches for park visitors. A tenth-grade student at Central York High School, Ethan has a strong interest in engineering and hopes to attend the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to study Mechanical Engineering. His career aspiration is to become a roller coaster designer and contribute to the creation of innovative attractions that combine creativity, physics, and engineering excellence. Today was the 10th Annual Shiloh American Legion Riders Car, Truck, Bike and Jeep Show! BIG thanks to all that came out and especially to John Crone (who also won a trophy for his Corvette), Jimmy Fissel, Bobbie Jo Miller and Michael Keech for sitting at our Detachment table selling tickets for our Veterans and Youth Programs of the MCL - Department of Pennsylvania. We even stayed during the pouring rain! We're here until 2:00 so there's still time for you to come on out!
