Fluvanna SPCA Fluvanna SPCA is a public shelter for dogs and cats in need of care and a happy permanent home. Philanthropic support (i.e.

The Fluvanna County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (FSPCA) was founded in 1989 and is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, animal welfare organization. We are dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and re-homing Fluvanna County's homeless, neglected, and abused dogs and cats. As a small, rural, open-intake shelter, we are proud to maintain a no-kill mission. The FSPCA also proudly serves as the county's Public Animal Shelter for the Fluvanna community. The Staff collaborates with the Sheriff's Animal Control Officers by taking in and caring for strays and neglected pets, and helping to reunite lost pets with their loved ones. donations, fundraising events, volunteers, fosters) play an essential role in ensuring that the FSPCA is able to care for, rehabilitate, vaccinate, spay-neuter, and find homes for as many homeless pets as possible.

Meet Chester! ✨

Chester is a sweet 1-year-old boy (his 1 -year birthday is actually today🎉) who is ready to find his forever family! This handsome guy loves people, soaking up attention, and making new friends. He's also good with other dogs and is house-trained!

Chester has a very fun, energetic personality and would love a family who can keep him active with walks, playtime, and plenty of adventures. He's had some training under his belt, too! Most of all, Chester is a big sweetheart who loves being around his people. He also enjoys treats and will happily sit for one! 😋

If you're looking for a loving, playful companion to add to your family, Chester might just be your guy! Come and meet him on Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm-5pm! 🐾

A HUGE thank you to the wonderful team at Lowe's Home Improvement in Zion Crossroads! 🐾💙

We are absolutely blown away by their incredible generosity! Lowe’s made a very generous donation of cat litter, lots of food, supplies, and SO much more to help care for the animals at the shelter!

We are so incredibly grateful for our community partners who continue to show up for our shelter animals. Thank you, Lowe’s, for being such amazing supporters and helping us make a difference, one animal at a time! 🐶🐱💙

Happy Wednesday! 🐾✨

We have some happy news to celebrate today! 15 amazing animals found their forever homes this past week- since last Tuesday! That’s 12 cats and 3 dogs who are officially starting their next chapter with amazing families who love them! 🏡

We are SO grateful to our fosters, adopters, volunteers, staff, and everyone who continues to share, support, donate, and cheer these animals on. Every adoption is a happy ending and a reason to celebrate! 🎉

Re-introducing Reba and her story that is far too familiar Fluvanna SPCA 😭 share her story far and wide!! ‼️

Reba is an owner surrender because her mom has cancer. 😭She is only a year old and the stressful shelter environment was not helping the fact that she left a VERY loving home.

Dogs that are in shelter for more than 2 weeks, really start to decline and that is exactly what was happening with sweet Reba.

So we partnered with The Adoption Cottage and goodness… what a difference 24 hours looks makes ❤️. She isn’t overly barking, she isn’t pacing in her kennel and she is eating again! Shelter life is NO JOKE so hard on animals! Oh and we found out she is kid friendly thanks to Catherine Bruse and her little boy August 💙

Does a face like Reba’s belong in your home 💯 so let’s share her story, so she can leave the The Adoption Cottage and open up another space for another shelter dog needing a break.

1) Young female cat was found on Whisperwood Ct in Troy. She was not wearing a collar and was found to have no microchip.

2) Young female kitten was found on W River Rd in Scottsville. She was not wearing a collar and no microchip was found.

3) Young male kitten was found on Thomas Jefferson Pkwy in Palmyra. He was not wearing a collar and was found to have no microchip.

4) Young kittens (1 male, 2 females) found on Wilmington Rd in Palmyra. They were not wearing collars and no microchips were present.

The Doggie Howl-O-Ween event was a HUGE success, and we’re still smiling thinking about all the adorable costumes, happy families, and the awesome community spirit that night! 👻🐶

A big THANK YOU to everyone who came out, dressed up their pups, cheered on our contestants, and helped make this event so special! Also a huge shoutout to Familiar Studios Media Group for coming out and capturing these awesome moments!

We are incredibly grateful for our amazing community, our wonderful downtown businesses, and especially Pawprints Boutique for collaborating with us and helping bring this spooktacular event to life! 🧡
