Be honest… how many grilling red flags did you spot? 👀

Take a second look before you start judging the grill master.

Is the grill too close to the house? Are there things nearby that definitely should not be near an open flame? Are the kids and pets way too close? Is anyone actually watching the grill? Did we miss any...

We were proud to participate in the Extreme Heat and Health Governance Symposium at Arizona State University, bringing together leaders and experts to explore how communities can better prepare for the growing impacts of extreme heat.

Our own Merydth Walter, Regional Disaster Officer for Arizona, joined the Beyond Solutions: Building the Future of Heat and Health Preparedness panel to share insights on preparedness, resilience, and the importance of collaboration.

Thank you to Arizona State University for bringing together such an engaging group of experts and partners for this important conversation.

When Janet travels, she always looks for the local Red Cross.

This year, Janet and Dave her husband, Dave (who is also a Red Cross volunteer in the Northern Arizona Chapter based out of Sedona) visited the Osaka Prefecture Red Cross in Japan, where they met with the local public relations manager and exchanged Red Cross medallions.

While walking through Osaka, Janet spotted a Red Cross sign on a storefront. Turns out, it was a blood donation center! Their tour guide even shared that she regularly donates blood through drives at her government job.

This isn't the only time Janet has found Red Cross abroad. Last year, Janet visited the Red Cross in Portugal while traveling there as well.

We love seeing these two bring Red Cross spirit wherever they go. Their travels are a great reminder that the Red Cross truly is a worldwide organization. Wherever you are, you can find people carrying on the same mission!

Let us know in the comments if you've ever seen Red Cross on your travels abroad ❤️

What a great day at our Tucson Preparedness Fair!

We were so happy to see so many community members and families came out for a fun day of learning, preparing, and spending time together. Attendees had the opportunity to build emergency kits, learn Hands-Only CPR, learn about the importance of blood donation, and take some fun photos with our mascots!

It was great seeing families take the time to learn simple steps they can take now to be better prepared for an emergency. Preparedness really does make a difference and taking those extra steps helps make Tucson a stronger and more prepared community.

Thank you to everyone who came out, participated, and helped make our Tucson Preparedness Fair such a huge success. We appreciate you being part of the day and taking the time to get prepared! ❤️
