The Yonkofa Project Yonkofa means Friendship in Twi. We build clinics and ship medical supplies to under-served areas.

The Yonkofa Project aims to bring healthcare to underserved areas of world, with a special focus on Western Ghana. People who live in medically underserved areas suffer from diseases that are largely treatable and/or preventable. The first Yonkofa Clinic broke ground in 2011, with four additional sites now developed. Our model provides for small, modern clinics, and housing for medical personnel.

This allows Ghanaian medical professionals to work in their own villages, and use their medical training to serve their own people.

Mavis, one of The Yonkofa Project nursing scholarship recipients, is now doing her national service at the Namong Hospital in the Ashanti Region. After she completes this internship, she will be placed in a clinic in the Aowin District, per the contract we have with the government. Exam tables and other equipment donated from a hospital closure in Atlanta, delivered by The Yonkofa Project to the Jomoro District of Ghana, with amazing help from Consolidated Shipping Agencies Ltd- Conship. Soon, every clinic in the hospital district will have functional exam tables and delivery beds.

The Yonkofa Project is an all-volunteer non-profit organization providing sustainable healthcare in third world countries. Our current focus is in Ghana, West Africa, where 80,000 children die each year due to treatable and preventable disease.
