Great conversations. Big ideas. Strategic impact.

Yesterday, the IVMA Board came together to discuss the future of veterinary medicine in Indiana—focusing on leadership, member value, and advancing our profession.

A special thank you to "" Animal Health for hosting us and providing a collaborative space for meaningful dialogue.

Last Thursday, IVMA Executive Director Lisa Perius visited Purdue University’s College of Veterinary Medicine to spend time with the third-year veterinary students. During the session, Lisa led an Insights Discovery refresh and discussed the Veterinary Practice Act and the legislative process, helping students better understand how laws, regulations, and communication styles impact veterinary practice.

Conversations like these are an important way IVMA supports the next generation of veterinarians as they prepare to enter the profession.

Did you know IVMA also offers complimentary membership to all new DVM graduates in their graduation year? It’s one of the ways we help young veterinarians stay connected to resources, mentorship, and the broader veterinary community in Indiana.

Yesterday we kicked off the first session of IVMA’s Power of Business program with veterinary teams from across Indiana. It was a great day of learning, discussion, and practical ideas practices can take back and put into action right away.

A big thank you to Katz, Sapper & Miller for hosting us and providing such a wonderful space for the program.

Missed the first session? Good news. We’re opening up the final session on April 15 and offering a special rate of $199 for your two-person team. Bring a veterinarian and a key team member—like your practice manager—and join us for the final program.

Power of Business is designed differently — and intentionally.

This program is built for you to bring a plus one from your practice. A veterinarian and a practice manager. A clinic owner and a team leader. A decision-maker and the person who helps carry it out.

Because real change happens when you learn together.

Instead of one person returning with notes, you both leave aligned, equipped, and ready to implement what you’ve learned immediately.

Invest in your practice. Invest in your team.

Meet IVMA’s new President, Dr. Matt Hobson.

“I joined IVMA because it was a benefit offered through my practice. I volunteered when someone showed interest in my ideas. I continue to serve because I’ve seen the impact IVMA has in protecting veterinary medicine in Indiana, built meaningful connections, and want to encourage others to find their voice and lead.”

Dr. Hobson’s journey reflects what organized veterinary medicine is all about — engagement, advocacy, and leadership.

Today is Love Your Pet Day.

What better way to show your pet you care than by scheduling their wellness visit? Preventive care plays a key role in keeping pets healthy, happy, and by your side for years to come.

Last week, Lisa Perius, IVMA's Executive Director, was at Purdue’s College of Veterinary Medicine leading an Insights refresh session.

Insights Discovery focuses on the art of communication — helping teams understand personality styles, improve workplace dynamics, and strengthen client interactions. When team members better understand how they communicate and make decisions, it creates greater clarity, trust, and effectiveness across the practice.
