IVMA recently had the opportunity to bring Insights Discovery training directly to Dr. Hines and her team at Lynn Veterinary Clinic.

Insights Discovery helps teams better understand individual communication and working styles—and how those differences can become strengths. Last week, IVMA Executive Director Lisa Perius joined the Indiana Veterinary Technician Association Board to assist with part of its board training and strategic goals discussion.

It was a great opportunity to share ideas, look ahead, and continue strengthening the collaborative partnership between our two associations. By working together, we can support strong leadership and continue building a stronger veterinary community across Indiana.

🐾 August is Itchy Pet Awareness Month!

Is your dog constantly scratching, licking their paws, or chewing at their skin? While an occasional itch is normal, frequent scratching or licking can be a sign that something more is going on.

Allergies are one possible cause, but fleas, ticks, and other skin conditions can also leave your pet feeling uncomfortable.

Keeping Pets Safe During Hot Weather

Summer heat can quickly become dangerous for pets, but a few simple precautions can help keep them safe.

• Provide plenty of fresh, cool water.
• Walk pets during the cooler morning or evening hours.
• Never leave a pet unattended in a parked vehicle.
• Watch for signs of heat stress, including excessive panting, weakness, or vomiting.

If you think your pet is overheating, contact your veterinarian immediately.
