Today is Day 9, and it will not be a video but rather I want to share some written musings as I sit here at the hospital (actually I'm back at my desk now but this got started in the hospital :-).
Last night I had to take a loved one to the emergency room, and we ended up being there for quite a few hours into the night.
It gave me a good opportunity to muse about the power of perception. Is this trip to the hospital a terrible experience or can I hold that, even though I don't know why it's happening, it's better than you could ever imagine?
It's whatever I choose it to be!
I could say the circumstances were out of my control, but that would be a complete misunderstanding of how this reality functions. I KNOW that I co-created the last 24 hours.
Thus the question is not: why did this happen to me?
The mature, inner sovereignty state of being question is: I wonder what I can learn from what I just created and use it to evolve a little more.
Note that I didn't even ask, WHY did I create this. That is not the most important question. The why question often takes us down the "processing" rabbit hole. That is not necessary to step out of the drama of negative emotions.
The key out of that drama is to fully, 100% take responsibility (without blame or judgment) for every creation in our lives and hold the perception that
1. it's a golden opportunity to learn and possibly release something within you that is causing that experience
2. no matter the experience, you know it's better than you could ever imagine. This one key perception invites you to constantly hold open the unfolding of life in the most magical and awe-inspiring way.
How often do you look back at challenging life events and realize how amazingly perfect they really were, no matter how hard they were in the moment. The perceptual shift of Better Than You Could Ever Imagine invites us to redirect our gaze from assessing the past to anticipating a BTYCEI future from a FEELING state (not from the egos/brain which want you to fear the unknown future).
So I choose to use this hospital visit opportunity to practice what is the first of our 13 Life Principles: Everything that comes in front of me is better than You could ever imagine.
I invite you all to practice that one perception for the next 24 hours. No matter what shows up. You don't know why. You just know it's better than you could ever imagine.
You take charge of your inner experience when you can master your perceptions with this one default perception.
That's inner sovereignty which leads to inner serenity.
See you all tomorrow!
