Wexford County Council On Aging The WCCOA works to enhance the wellness and empowers our seniors to be a vital part of the community. The agency is governed by a 15 member Board.

Wexford County Council on Aging (COA) is a local nonprofit 501©3 agency, serving seniors age 60 and older and disabled adults throughout Wexford County, Michigan. Many of our services are subsidized (cost share) through the Wexford County Senior Millage to help lower the actual cost of our homemaking, personal care, in-home respite, DayBreak Adult Day Services and snow removal (pre-paid vouchers for snow removal) for those that are 60 years old and older. Other sources of funding come from Area Agency on Aging of Northwest Michigan, Northern Health Care Management, United Way of Wexford County, Office of Services to the Aging (OSA), Department of Human Services, donations and private contributions. "Our mission is to collaboratively provide, manage, and source an integrated system of health and human services for Wexford County seniors and disabled adults with chronic illness or disability."

🚀 Preparing for Medicare Open Enrollment: All Systems Go! 🚀

Mission Medicare is almost ready for liftoff!

Our SHIP Counselors (staff and volunteers) are completing their final pre-flight checks and preparing for one of the busiest missions of the year. Beginning October 15, we'll be helping older adults throughout Wexford County navigate the Medicare universe and explore their coverage options.

🛰️ If you'd like assistance from the Wexford County Council on Aging during Open Enrollment and don't already have an interest form, stop by Mission Control (our office) to pick one up.

📋 Returning your form as soon as possible helps our crew prepare for the number of individuals we expect to serve during this busy enrollment season.

☎️ Due to the large number of older adults we assist in a short period of time, our SHIP Counselors conduct Medicare counseling by phone appointment only during Open Enrollment. This allows us to help as many people as possible throughout the enrollment period.

Thank you for your patience as we enter this busy season. Our crew is fueled up, suited up, and ready for launch!
