Save the Water Our vision is contamination free, healthy water for all. Mainstream knowledge and awareness starts with science. Is the Flint incident sending a warning?

The mission of Save the Water™ is to conduct water research to identify and remove harmful contaminants in water, and to raise public awareness about water contamination and its health impact. Today there are so many chemicals used in our day to day lives, which weren’t even invented 10-15 years ago. There is no regulatory limit on how much of these new chemicals can be in our water and some of them are now being detected even in our drinking water. It is STW’s belief that these unknown and untested contaminants in water could detrimentally impact our health and environment. Save the Water conducts analytical research on these untested contaminants, treats water to remove them, and promotes awareness about contamination and healthy water. Without clean drinking water, no species plant, animal or human can be saved. We must insure that the water is not contaminated to the point where we can no longer drink it.

💧 What if the chemicals in our water are changing faster than we can detect them?

In our latest Save the Water™ podcast episode, host Victoria sits down with Professor Bill Arnold, Distinguished McKnight University Professor of Environmental Engineering at the University of Minnesota, to explore PFAS, “forever chemicals,” and the future of clean water.

From understanding how contaminants move through our environment to balancing drinking-water disinfection and developing new ways to recover valuable resources from wastewater, this conversation connects water science to the communities it impacts.

🌊Rivers are essential to communities, ecosystems, and the water we depend on every day.

World Rivers Day reminds us that protecting water goes far beyond the river we see. Pollution can move through connected water systems, affecting wildlife, public health, and drinking water.

💧That purpose closely aligns with Save the Water™. Through scientific research, water-quality monitoring, education, and practical solutions, we work to identify, understand, and address water contamination.

The Everglades Clean Drinking Water Initiative™ puts that mission into action through contaminant research, long-term monitoring, and the development of solutions to help protect this vital freshwater system.

🌱Healthy rivers mean healthier water systems, communities, and ecosystems.

💧This World Water Monitoring Day, turn awareness into action for cleaner water.

Monitoring our water helps us understand what’s in it, identify emerging threats, and take action to protect the people and ecosystems that depend on it.

🐊At Save the Water™, that mission is at the heart of our work. Through the Everglades Clean Drinking Water Initiative™, we’re working to monitor water quality, research harmful contaminants, and develop science-based solutions to help protect one of Florida’s most important freshwater resources.

But protecting our water requires long-term research and action—and you can be part of it.

💙 This World Water Monitoring Day, help turn monitoring into meaningful action. Donate to support our Everglades Clean Drinking Water Initiative™ and the future of clean water.

🌎Antimicrobial resistance isn’t only a concern in hospitals—it can also spread through the water we depend on. 💧

🇵🇪In Peru’s Pongo de Rentema, pollution from human activities is creating conditions that can contribute to the persistence and spread of antimicrobial-resistant bacteria. For communities that rely on these waterways, this connects water quality directly to human and environmental health.

💧 At Save the Water™, our mission is to protect water resources through scientific research, education, and the development of solutions to water contamination. Understanding emerging threats like antimicrobial resistance helps us raise awareness of how pollutants affect our water—and why addressing contamination at its source matters.

Swipe through to learn more about antimicrobial resistance, what contributes to its spread, and how protecting water can help protect communities.

12 new wells. More reliable water when it matters most.

Fort Myers is strengthening its water infrastructure with the installation of 12 new source water wells, supported by back-up power generation systems designed to keep wells operational during weather emergencies.

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) provided approximately $47.5 million for the Wellfield Expansion Project—an investment designed to add much-needed redundancy and improve the resiliency and reliability of the city’s water system.

Projects like this show how investing in resilient water infrastructure can help communities prepare for emergencies and protect access to one of our most essential resources.

Every step toward stronger water systems is a step toward healthier, more resilient communities.
