Today, the members of the Arizona Rangers Agua Fria Company pause to honor and remember the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.
Memorial Day is more than the beginning of summer—it is a solemn reminder of the extraordinary cost of freedom. Across generations, American service members answered the call to duty, placing the welfare of their fellow citizens and the defense of our nation above their own lives. Their courage, dedication, and selfless sacrifice will never be forgotten.
As we gather with family and friends, attend ceremonies, or enjoy the freedoms secured by their service, we encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on those who gave everything in defense of our country and to remember the Gold Star families who continue to carry their legacy forward.
The Arizona Rangers remain committed to serving our communities and honoring the values of duty, service, and sacrifice exemplified by our fallen heroes.

Today, on Peace Officers Memorial Day, the Arizona Rangers stand in solemn solidarity with law enforcement agencies across the nation. We pause to remember, honor, and salute the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
Our legacy is forged in the courage of those who rode before us. Today, we look back at our roots and specifically honor the memory of two legendary Arizona Rangers who laid down their lives to bring law and order to the rugged Arizona Territory:
• Ranger Carlos Tafolla (EOW: October 8, 1901): As one of the original Arizona Rangers, Ranger Tafolla gave his life during a fierce gunbattle with the Bill Smith gang in the high country of the White Mountains. His dying words—ensuring his companion was cared for and expressing no regrets for doing his duty—set the eternal standard of devotion for all Rangers who followed.
• Sergeant Jeff Kidder (EOW: April 5, 1908): Renowned for his fearless dedication, sharp-shooting, and relentless pursuit of justice, Sgt. Kidder sacrificed his life following a shootout in the border town of Naco. Even mortally wounded, he fought valiantly to uphold the law until his very last breath.
Their silver badges may belong to history, but their sacrifice remains a living part of our mission today. We carry their stories forward, sworn to the same ideals of community, protection, and service.
To all peace officers who have given everything to keep our communities safe, and to the families who carry their memory, we thank you, we honor you, and we will never forget.

This National Police Week, the Arizona Rangers stand in solemn remembrance of the heroes who gave everything in the line of duty. Gathering at the Arizona Peace Officers Memorial, we are reminded that our commitment to “Honor Our Fallen and Support Our Living” is more than just a motto, it is a sacred vow.
Since our modern re-establishment in 1957, we have remained dedicated to supporting law enforcement and serving the communities of Arizona. We stand with our brothers and sisters in blue, today and every day.

Today we honor and celebrate all mothers, grandmothers, stepmothers, and mother figures whose strength, sacrifice, compassion, and guidance help shape our families and communities every day.

We especially thank the mothers who serve their communities, support first responders, and stand behind those who volunteer their time to protect and assist others across Arizona. Your dedication does not go unnoticed.

Members from the Arizona Rangers Agua Fria Company were proud to stand alongside our partners at the Buckeye Police Department and Buckeye Fire as they responded to a large brush fire impacting the community.

Rangers quickly mobilized to assist with traffic control and critical road closures, helping ensure the safety of residents, emergency personnel, and those evacuating the affected areas. Through coordinated efforts, clear communication, and a shared commitment to public safety, the situation was managed efficiently under challenging conditions.

A special thank you to the many community members who stepped up in a big way—dropping off water, snacks, and supplies for first responders working long hours in difficult conditions. Your support did not go unnoticed and made a real difference on the line.

This response is a reminder of the strength of interagency cooperation and the dedication of volunteers who step forward when it matters most. The Arizona Rangers remain committed to supporting our local first responders and protecting the communities we serve. Special thanks to the Walmart Distribution Center in Buckeye for making several trips and donating hydration supplies.

Today, the Agua Fria Company Rangers proudly supported operations at Turf Paradise during the Kentucky Derby event. With large crowds, high energy, and a fast-paced environment, our Rangers stepped up to ensure safety, maintain order, and provide a visible, professional presence throughout the venue.

From traffic coordination to assisting patrons and working alongside partner agencies, our team demonstrated what it means to serve with integrity, discipline, and dedication. Events like this highlight the importance of preparedness, teamwork, and a commitment to the community.

Thank you to all the Rangers who volunteered their time and effort today, long hours, steady focus, and a willingness to serve do not go unnoticed.
