On Sunday, May 31st, Gone Fishing Ministries celebrated our Chef, Mrs. Lillian Toussaint. For the past 5 years, Ms. Lillian has faithfully prepared and served thousands of meals to our Community with love and dedication. If you tasted her food, you felt the love. As she moves into a new chapter, we want her to know she is loved and appreciated. Thank you Ms. Lillian for your service! 🧡

We are incredibly grateful for our volunteers!
Serving our community is at the heart of what we do. 🧡

Last year alone, we provided more than 15,000 meals to individuals and families in our community. This impact would not have been possible without the dedication, compassion, and support of our AMAZING VOLUNTEERS.

For many years, we have been blessed with a faithful group of volunteers who consistently show up to serve. As we continue this important work, we are looking for additional volunteers, organizations, churches, businesses, and community groups to help share the load and provide some much-deserved relief to our current team.

If you are available to volunteer on a Wednesday this month, we would love to hear from you! Your time can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Gone Fishing Ministries honors the memory of one of our long-time volunteers, Ms. Nora Lee Mizell. Ms. Nora served faithfully for many years, and we are truly grateful for her dedication, love, and years of service.

Though we will miss her, we are comforted in knowing that she is now resting from all of her labor and has received her heavenly reward.
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7

Thank you to Red Beans and Blue Jeans, Wendy Allard, Jamion Burney, the Pass Christian Library, the LAD Project and everyone involved for allowing Gone Fishing Ministries to be part of the community connection discussion today!

We are truly grateful for the opportunity to serve our neighbors and to partner with other organizations that share the same heart and vision of helping one another. Collaboration strengthens our impact, and we believe wholeheartedly that we are better together. We are blessed to be a blessing.

How can we make our community a better place to live for everyone? How can we help everyone in our community thrive? How can we reach out to have conversations that include different viewpoints?
In an effort to answer these questions, we hope you will join us for the next installment of Red Beans and Blue Jeans Community Conversation on Sunday, March 1st from 2-4pm at The LAD Project (881 E. North Street). Although our focus is on the Pass Christian (39571 zip code), everyone is welcome to join in the conversation. Local community leader Jamion Burney will be our moderator.
This session will be about our “Community in Action”. We are inviting different community organizations to join us to talk about their work and goals. Let’s learn from each other and network!

Volunteer Appreciation Lunch yesterday with our volunteers. We were missing some, but so grateful for the work our volunteers do with a servant's heart, lovingly, consistently and with joy each week. Our volunteers are the hands and feet of Jesus and we are so blessed by them. During 2025, Gone Fishing Ministries served over 15,500 meals to our community. Our prayer is that God continues to provide and allows this work to continue. 🙏🏼🧡

One of the annual events Gone Fishing Ministries is proud to support is our local Boys and Girls Club in Pass Christian's Friendsgiving. Our Gone Fishing Team was unable to attend, but we donated macaroni and green beans. We love seeing the pictures of the children enjoying themselves and enjoying the meal. ❤️

WHAT YOUR DONATION PROVIDES
Donations in any amount are appreciated, but here are some guidelines:

$50 pays for six gallons of string beans

$175 pays for enough paper plates for two meals

$225 pays for about 75 meals (We are currently averaging about 400 each Wednesday.)

Any other donations above that can be a mixture of all. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Today is Giving Tuesday!!! We are so grateful for the support of our donors and friends!!! Since Katrina, we have been blessed with the opportunity to serve hot meals to our neighbors. We cherish this work, but it comes with an expense. If you are led, please consider making a donation today. No amount is too small. Your help demonstrates your support in this much needed service to bridge the food insecurity gap and to help our neighbors. 🧡
