This past weekend I went over to our home and did some clean up type of work, and to get things ready for this week and I had to take this picture right here!
One of my boys specifically has told me “Mom, I just cannot wait til I can wear socks and slide down this hallway!” And it made me giggle. I’m not sure who is more excited for our home, them or myself!
I cannot wait to hang picture frames down the hallway and throughout our home. Watching the boys excitement throughout this whole process has been the best experience!
Thank you to all of the volunteers, the donations, the time and skills that I have been put into our home. God has had his hands on this home during this entire build and has continued to bless us beyond measure!

Sometimes a build comes together in ways that feel like pure divine intervention.

A fenced yard is not a standard part of a Phelps County Habitat for Humanity home build. Our construction budgets are carefully planned to provide the essentials of a safe, affordable home, and there simply isn't room to add extras along the way.

So when Lennox Jones with Mid Missouri Property Management and Fence Inc. first reached out to ask how they could help our partnering family—a single mom with twin boys—we had to say no. As much as we would have loved to see those energetic boys have a safe, fenced-in yard to run and play in, a fence was not something our build budget could accommodate.

But sometimes, the right people come along at exactly the right time.

As we got closer to the finish line, generous community support helped us cover the remaining needs of the home and eased some of the financial pressure that comes with completing a build. That opened the door for us to revisit Lennox's offer, and we were thrilled to reach back out with the good news.

Mid Missouri Property Management and Fence Inc. brought the craftsmanship, and the generosity of our community helped make this extraordinary exception possible. Together, they created a safe, secure backyard where two boys can run, play and make memories for years to come.

This isn't how every Habitat build works. It was a unique opportunity that came together through extraordinary community generosity—and we're incredibly grateful that it did.

Moments like this remind us how special Phelps County is. Please join us in thanking Mid Missouri Property Management and Fence Inc. and everyone who helped make this special addition possible for this family! ❤️

When it came to keeping our latest home build energy-efficient, cozy, and draft-free, Mike Dickie with American Insulation had us totally covered. Mike stepped in to install the insulation throughout the entire house—laying down the invisible barrier that will keep utility bills low and comfort high for years to come.

It’s the work behind the walls that makes a house a true, comfortable home.

Give American Insulation a call for your next project, and join us in thanking Mike Dickie for insulating our mission! 🏡❄️☀️

Some partnerships just keep showing up. ❤️

For years, Town & Country Bank has been there for Phelps County Habitat for Humanity in so many different ways.

They’ve rolled up their sleeves and joined us on workdays, supported our fundraisers and community events, and served on our Board of Directors and Family Selection Committee!

Their support has looked different over the years, but the one thing that has stayed the same is their willingness to show up and be part of the work.

We’re so thankful to continue that partnership with another generous donation from Town & Country Bank.

But more than the donation, we’re grateful for the years of involvement, encouragement and support they’ve given to Phelps County Habitat and the families we serve.

Thank you, Town & Country Bank, for being a community partner we can count on! ❤️

We have a VANITY!!! I spent a little while painting yesterday, and when I walked by the bathroom I was so excited! For years I have had little to no counter space in the bathroom. When my boys were just babies it never was much of a problem. But as they continue to grow, it has been.
I can just see it now, little toothbrush holders, little cups, and they can wash their little hands without knocking everything over or off the counter! Also it has 3 pull out drawers! No more running back and forth for items!!
Little things like this make me so grateful for this home! I cannot wait to decorate this bathroom!
A huge thank you to every volunteer, whether it be time, money, or supplies! One piece at a time is making this house a home!

Building a home takes a whole community working together, and we are so thankful for every local business that steps up to make our builds possible! 🏡✨

A huge shoutout and heartfelt THANK YOU to our friends at Butler Supply in Rolla for being a wonderful supporting partner on our latest home build! Whether providing electrical essentials, plumbing supplies, or crucial materials behind the scenes, having trusted local suppliers in our corner helps turn our build plans into real, lasting homes.

Partnerships like this are what allow us to continue building safe, affordable housing for families right here in Phelps County.

Thank you, Butler Supply, for standing with us and helping build hope in Phelps County!

Once the drywall is up, the real magic begins! 🪄✨

Let’s be honest—nobody looks forward to mudding and taping. It is a true art form that takes incredible skill, patience, and precision to get those walls perfectly smooth!

A huge shoutout and thank you to Mid Mo Drywall for bringing their expertise to our latest build and taking care of all the mudding and taping. It was a perfect canvas for Trent Harrison, who came right behind to transform the space with fresh, beautiful coats of paint!

Building homes takes a total team effort, and we are so grateful for local pros like Mid Mo Drywall and Trent Harrison for bringing their top-notch skills to our mission!

Before the mudding, taping, and painting can even begin, you have to get those walls up! 🔨 drywalling is heavy, precise work, and it sets the foundation for the entire interior of a home.

A huge shoutout and thank you to Tim Henson for hanging all the sheetrock on our current build! Tim stepped in and did the heavy lifting, getting every single room boarded and prepped so Mid Missouri Drywall could come through next to work their mudding and taping magic.

It takes a dedicated team working step-by-step to turn a framework into a home, and we are so grateful for volunteers and tradesmen like Tim who give their time, strength, and skills to help build a brighter future for a local family.

Please join us in giving Tim a big round of applause for all his hard work behind the scenes!

Stopped by our home today to do a little painting and other things, and when I seen the progress on the closets I was blown away!
We have been living in a tiny 2 bedroom apartment for several years now, and before that we lived in an even smaller one. So when I can walk down an actual hallway before we ever get to the bedrooms that blows my mind just the hallway.
Seeing the shelves in the pantry, the shelves in the closets of each room may sound silly to be so excited over, but when we have spent YEARS trying to find places to just put clothes or shoes and feeling frustrated because we just haven’t had the space we need was a lot.
The peace of mind that comes with knowing we will have a place to put things like coats, shoes, ANYTHING honestly, is so incredible.
Being able to have a pantry with shelves to stay organized and to be able to look and see what we actually have before going to the grocery store will be such a game changer.
Happy Friday!! Thank you to all those who have put the time, energy, skills and more into this build. Our prayers are being answered every day!

Wondering who qualifies for our "A Brush with Kindness" program?
We want to keep things as simple as possible! If you, a loved one, or a neighbor needs help with yard clean-up, ramps, or exterior safety repairs (like porches and railings), here is our baseline checklist to see if you qualify:

Location: The home must be located within Phelps County, Missouri.

Homeownership: You must be the legal owner of the home and actively live in it as your primary residence.

Need & Income: Priority is given to seniors (65+), veterans, and individuals with disabilities who fall within our low-income guidelines and are physically or financially unable to do the work themselves.

Willingness to Partner: Habitat is all about partnership! We ask applicants to invest a small amount of volunteer time, known as "sweat equity," into the project or our local Habitat affiliate.

Worried about physical limitations? Please don't let that stop you from applying!

We fully understand that many of our applicants face physical constraints, and we gladly make reasonable accommodations. Sweat equity doesn't have to mean heavy lifting—it can be completed through lighter tasks (like helping with paperwork or prepping water for volunteers). It can also be completed on your behalf by friends, family members, or church groups!

We use a quick, two-step application system to get things moving.

Take a look at the details and fill out the initial application online today:

Or pick up an application at the Rolla Public Library.
