As I was looking on my Facebook memories yesterday, it popped up that it has been a whole year since the ground breaking ceremony for our home!
I didn’t realize just how fast time can go, until I’ve watched our home being built, and watching my boys grow up.
Watching the progress over this last year has been so incredible. Letting my sons be a big part of this process as well has been so neat.
From the day of groundbreaking when there was just grass on an open lot, to watching the progress of each step, to now there being a whole house where we stood to “break the dirt” as my boys called it.
A huge thank you, to every volunteer, every donation, every single person who has played in any part of this home build. My little family cannot wait to officially be moved in, and enjoy all the things of being a homeowner.

This blanket was made and donated by a donor who wanted to remain anonymous, and I just am not sure how to put into words just how precious this gift was to my little family.
This blanket is so thick, so heavy, and you can tell it took so much time and a lot of love to make this.
How precious is this, that someone took their own time, and their own special talents to make us a blanket for our new home. It says New Home, New Beginnings and New Memories and that fits this next chapter of our lives so perfectly!
So a very special thank you to this anonymous donor, we will treasure this blanket for many years to come!

Sometimes, making a difference can be as simple as a grilled cheese sandwich. 🧀❤️

The National Residence Hall Honorary at Missouri S&T hosted Say Cheese to benefit Phelps County Habitat for Humanity, bringing people together for a fun night of good food, laughter and a great cause.

We’re so grateful to these students for choosing to support affordable homeownership right here in Phelps County. It’s a great reminder that when our community comes together, even something as simple as a grilled cheese can make a difference. 🏠

As we get closer to our closing date, I’ve asked each of my boys what is the first thing they are going to do once we get moved in, or started to move in. Both answered me very fast, “Go and play outside in the backyard where we have TONS of room to run chase each other”.
This has been the absolute best experience, not just getting to feel my own excitement, but to watch the excitement in my sons!
For years I never thought this would ever be a possibility, and to now getting to live out those answered prayers!
Thank you Jesus, for the gift of salvation, and for all the many blessings you have poured into my life.
Thank you to each and every volunteer, any donations whether it was monetary or supplies or labor, my little family will soon be under our very own roof, and we are just so very excited!
Getting to partner with Habitat has been the best! I am getting to know so many wonderful people, and I cannot wait to give back after we have been so richly blessed.

When nonprofits work together, the impact reaches even further. ❤️

Phelps County Habitat for Humanity was excited to partner with Sleep in Heavenly Peace to provide beds for our partnering family. But this wasn’t just a delivery. The boys who received the beds got to be part of the process by helping assemble them!

There’s something special about giving a family a safe place to call home and giving kids the chance to help build something that is theirs.

Two local nonprofits. One amazing community. And a family feeling the difference that happens when people come together to help one another. 🏠❤️

Yesterday was one of those days where you just can’t quite put it into words. I’ve tried to figure out how to express my gratitude and I just can’t seem to find an exact word that fits exactly how I feel!
I was blown away with all who showed up in support, and to be here for this very day that we have been so anxiously been waiting for! Getting to show people around our home, our great backyard, and watching my boys be so excited to show people was just the absolute best!
As I looked around yesterday, I remember telling a friend from church, none of this would be possible without God. Putting him at the center of my life, he has continued to bless myself and my boys beyond measure. Someone told me yesterday that they could tell God has covered every inch of this home build. And I told them absolutely!
Thank you so very much to everyone who was able to make it yesterday! The love and support my little family felt yesterday was incredible!
