You see the freedom rides, the happy endings, and the sweet faces—but behind every single one is this crew. A whole lot of heart, a little chaos, and probably somebody asking, “When’s our next day off?” 😂🚐
Let’s meet the people who keep West Point Clay County Animal Shelter moving! 👇
💗 Jessie — Executive Director
Jessie is the glue that holds us together. Records, playgroups, transports, coordinating with rescue organizations, vaccine clinics, spay and neuter schedules, veterinary visits, community outreach, social media—you name it, she does it! She has a hand in every corner of this shelter and pours her heart into keeping us moving forward. If something is happening at WPCCAS, chances are Jessie has about 12 tabs open for it😂📋🐾!!!
📚 Brenan — Office Manager
Brenan juggles a full-time college schedule while helping care for every animal under our roof! Record keeping and health certificates are her JAM, but she also helps with veterinary visits, spay and neuter appointments, and transports. Schoolwork, shelter work, and a whole lot of paperwork—her plate stays FULL💻🐶🐱!!!
🩺 Kira — Lead Veterinary Technician
Kira does all things medical and transport! Up before the sun and often still going long after it sets, she helps make sure our animals get the care they need and are ready when their ride to a better life arrives. From getting them healthy to getting them loaded, Kira is right there making it happen💉🌅🚐!!
🔧 Morris — Facilities Manager
Morris somehow manages to hold the place—and all of us—together! Facility maintenance, van maintenance, and the never-ending list of things that need fixing: you name it, he does it. There is ALWAYS something around here, and we’re pretty sure “Hey, Morris!” is one of the most-used phrases at WPCCAS😂🛠️🚐!!
🐈 Betsy — Cat Technician & Office Assistant
Betsy keeps her cat room cared for, tidies the office, and helps keep our days flowing! Between tending to our feline residents and keeping our shared spaces in order, she helps us stay on track—even when the cats have their own agenda. Which is always😂💕🐱!!
🐱 Foster — Cat Technician
Foster balances college life with all things CAT! Keeping our feline crew fed, clean, comfortable, and cared for is a big responsibility, and Foster helps make sure they have what they need while waiting for their next chapter. College student and caretaker to tiny, demanding roommates? Quite the combination📚🐾💓!!
🐶 Mandy — Dog Technician
Mandy balances college life with all things DOG! Our pups bring plenty of mess, energy, and daily needs, and she puts in the work to keep them cared for. Studying for class while helping care for a shelter full of dogs deserves a little extra credit, if you ask us😂📚🎾!!
📞 Madison — Customer Service Representative & Fundraising Coordinator
Madison balances college life while answering our phones and emails, keeping up with bookkeeping, and planning fundraisers! From helping our community get answers to helping bring in the funds our animals depend on, she keeps plenty of plates spinning. There’s a lot happening behind that phone and computer💻📚🎉!!
🌿 Not pictured: Terrance — Groundskeeping
Terrance works alongside Morris to keep our grounds maintained! The work doesn’t stop at the shelter doors, and we’re thankful for the time and effort he puts into keeping the outside cared for, too. Teamwork keeps this place going💪🛠️!!
Different roles, a whole lot of overlapping responsibilities, and ONE shared mission: giving these animals the care, love, and opportunities they deserve🐶🐱💓!
This work is messy. It’s exhausting. It’s emotional. But this crew keeps showing up—and every happy ending has a little piece of their hard work in it.
